Φ I have always had a special life
Standing in the middle of a life raft made out of my bones in the middle of the sea, with shore so far away it looks like a blur, I stare directly at the wonderbeast in front of me, a massive steel kraken, with my mouth hanging wide. As I shout, "DADDY!"
Jumping out of the water in nothing but his underwear, my father, with his luscious black hair and glowing blue eyes, with a sword in hand, shouts, "CAPTIVANT THE AMAZING HAS ARRIVED!"
He falls down towards the kraken's head and plunges his sword inside of it with grace and strength, which causes its body to freeze. And as it rests still, he turns his head towards me with a smile and starts to pose as he says, "ISN'T YOUR PAPA AMAZING!"
My father had a love of the world itself and would always go where or do whatever the wind took him. We were originally having a picnic in Blestemate, yet somehow ended up hunting wonderbeasts in Molstoria. That level of randomness and chaos was something he always brought with him everywhere, though at times it led to great danger.
Smiling whilst I clap my hands, I jump up and down, I say, "You are so amaz-. DADDY WATCH OUT!"
He quickly turns his head, where he sees the Kraken holding up one of its tentacles, before striking it right into Father, sending him skipping like a stone through the water until he lands right on top of me, knocking the boat backwards.
"Daddy," I yell as I hold my father close in my arms, but his mind remains in a daze. I drop him and rush forward towards the kraken.
It raises its tentacles again and swings to send them down towards us, so I hold out my arms and scream, "COME ON OUT!"
A series of small bones come out of my arms and head towards the kraken, yet as I approach its tentacles, the sheer wind pressure of its swing breaks, and destroys each of them till nothing remains, and mere moments later, its tentacle is mere inches away from my head.
Feeling imminent death fall on me, I freeze in fear as my mortality flashes before my eyes. Yet before it reaches my head, a large bone pops out from the water impaling its limb, before another swarm of them surges from the depths impaling every last inch of its body.
Soon a figure bursts forth from the ground, one with flowing white hair with pink highlights, who has a dominant fusion of red and pink in her eyes, that have the shape of the sun etched into them. Falling on top of our little raft in her swimsuit, she looks at both of us, and my eyes fill with tears as I shout, "MOMMY!"
Picking me up, she says, "There, there, I know it must've been tough being left here all alone, did the violent clown beside you scare you?"
Father, sitting up, says, "Why do you think I am the one who scared him, not the giant animal behind him. You're being too mean to your beloved husband, Draga!"
With the same cold exterior she uses to face all her allies and enemies, mother says, "Because you're a degenerate. Please use your brain, my other half."
"I AM NO DEGENERA-."
Mother raises the sole of her foot up, and I quickly hear an impact followed by sniffing, causing me to try and turn my head, but she quickly places it in her bosom and says, "Don't pollute your eyes with the sight behind you, my young man."
The sniffing is quickly followed by a series of other nosies until mother kicks in front of her, knocking father down, then puts her foot in the water as my father grabs me from behind and says, "Now onto our next adventure, right, my young man!"
Bending my head backwards, I look in the face of my father, then slam my face into my mother, and say, "NO, I HATE ADVENTURING, I WANT TO STAY IN MOTHER'S FLAT BOARD!"
My father fell onto his back with tears of sadness as laughter burst out of his mouth, and my mother started to shake violently, before slamming her foot into my father again.
Grabbing her foot, father starts to tickle mother, making her hard face soften for a moment as she struggles to hold in her laughter. Rage overtakes her face for an instant, and she puts her force into her leg trying to step on father, yet he quickly turns her leg, making her and I fall onto his chest.
Holding us both tightly, he says, "If we are leaving, let's enjoy the sky."
Recomposing herself, she says, "If that's what you wish, I shall allow it."
Turning, we all stare up at the sky entranced by its beauty, yet from my father's mouth a hear him mumble, "What a pity," as his usually joyful expression sours for a moment, causing me to grab my chest.
The life my parents had was not something I simply couldn't handle; the constant movement, the endless experiences, the unknown dangers, it was simply too much for my heart, so I chose to flee somewhere safer for me.

Continent: Terrafide
Location: Nightmare Nation, Blestemate; Frumos Castle, Blesteosteo; Library
I couldn't find the place for me out there with them, so I searched for it back at home. The Frumos family had countless documents that date back centuries detailing countless things about Blestemate, and each time I engorge myself on them, soaking in more and more knowledge. And through that, what caught my eye more than anything else was the history of the curses that once existed. The fantastical ones, the monstrous ones, the funny ones, the uncool ones, the gross ones, the powerful ones, all the curses that had been etched into our people from now till the end of time.
Lying in a large pile of books in the library, I scour through them all with the rest of the world fading around me. Yet the bones I have in my hair suddenly pick up on something in my surrounding forcing me to move my fist and plunge it into the sea of books, causing a scream to roar out.
"I know you're their father."
Popping out of the sea of literature, my father says, "I thought you let your guard down; it is good to see you still have high levels of self-preservation."
"Mother told me I always need to keep a watch out, or I will get kidnapped while I am reading, as you have?"
With a frustrated face, father says, "It's not my fault those heathens have no form of civility to violate another man while he is doing something as sacred as reading."
"Yet you are here violating my father."
Giving me a bear hug, he says, "It's because you're far too adorable to be left alone for any period of time. Besides, you've been couped up here reading like I did all my time when I was younger, so I was just a bit mesmerised by how much you reminded me of myself."
With a small smile pushing the corner of my mouth wider, I say, "We do have the same blood running between us, of course, I may show similarities, but don't get ahead of yourself father."
He rubs his chin against the top of my head for a bit before asking, "What are you reading there?"
"Just some logs on the curses in the country."
Father's eyes light up, and he says, "You don't mean the Frumos logs, that have a record of all the curses that have been absorbed by Balaur, and the instructions to form curse items out of each one!?"
"Of course, as the next head of the family, I have free access to anyone I want, from now until I die."
Moving from side to side, father says, "That sounds so amazing, I wish I could read them myself."
"You're not allowed to?"
Rubbing the bone in my hair, my father says, "I promised your mother I wouldn't ever read any of the Frumos records, as I sign that my love for her is only specifically for her. ONE OF THE EASIEST TRADES IMAGINABLE!" With tears forming in his eyes, he says, "But when I see the sparkle in your eyes, I start to feel even the teeniest tiniest bit of regret."
"Of really," A cold voice says.
My father, with me in his arms, quickly jumps forward and spins around, facing the opposite direction we once were, where we see my mother standing with a joyful expression and a wide smile over it.
In an instant, our fight or flight instinct activates in both father and I, as a tremor moves through our bodies, causing him to say, "Did I say regret? I MEAN REGRET THAT I COULDN'T MAKE SUCH A DEAL EARLIER!"
Mother walks forward with her smile fading bit by bit before she steps on my father's foot, eliciting a scream from him.
"You see this special treatment I give you, relish that or else I might take it away and leave you with nothing but a sword through your chest."
"Scary," I mumble as I stare into the bewitching eyes of my mother.
"Don't worry, Dragoste, despite the big game your mother talks, she is quite the opposite when we are alone, you should hear the things she says to me, like-."
A strike bashes my father in his neck, and as he falls to the ground rolling around in pain, my mother catches me, and says, "You don't have to listen to anything that man says regarding me, you've got that."
"Okay, mother. But I do feel sad that my father can't read all of this."
"He is a man and will be kept to his word, but if someone wants to tell it to him personally, I have no issue with that, but the information will not be coming from my mouth."
My mother winks at me with her whole body, causing Father to laugh, earning him another kick to the throat. I drop down beside him, and with a smile beaming across my face, I say, "Father, what do you want to learn about first? Pick whatever section in the library, and I can retell it to you."
My father's smile as I said those words was something I always remember. The thoughts and feelings of our next adventures would be through the battlefield pressed down into each of the pages around us. Yet it never came to fruition.
Through the side of the library, a large explosion blows the side of the wall right open, causing my mother to extend bones from her body, forming a net that catches all the rubble.
Smoke fills the room, yet in an instant it fades in front front of us, a massive lizard nightmares whose head is the size of the very room of 20 of me, lies unconscious, and sitting on top of his a young girl with the same hair colour as my father, and bones just like me and my mother stands with a happy expression.
With a proud smile, the girl shouts, "LOOK AT THE CRIMINAL I SUBDUED!"
A happy expression overflows my father's face as his eyes instantly switch from myself to her, as he says, "Never a dull moment with you around, my darling."
Mother, with a far more stressed expression, shouts, "INTRARE! AGAIN WITH THIS!!"
"Mommy, you don't need to shout; it's unbecoming of a lady."
Behind the girl, a woman says, "And you walking around covered in blood and bruises with messy, unwashed hair is somehow better."
Turning her head, my sister says, "Yet I get asked out on dates while Stelara is forever alone at this rate, you'll still be single by your 600th birthday."
Grabbing Intrare by the head, Stelara says, "For interrupting Cursed Heart Army operations, I am going to report you to her majesty."
"NOOOOO! SHE SAID SHE WOULDN'T LET ME OFF NEXT TIME. MOMMY, DADDY, HELP!" Intrare says before Stelara jumps out of the room.
Mother lets out an exhausted sigh before my father hugs her with a smile. "She takes after you far too much, honey."
"Ehh, I think if she takes after anyone, it's you, my beloved wife."
"Regardless, let's go help her get out of this again."
In an instant, the two of them run off, with my father shouting, "WE WILL BE BACK EVENUTALLY DRAGOSTE, WAIT HERE! AND TRY TO CLEAN UP!"
In the messy, destroyed room, I look around it, before getting up, and slowly putting everything back to where it belongs, as the beating of my heart plays as background music in my ears.
