A world that seemed too chaotic to survive annihilation was in front of Rex and the women. The strangest of the sight was an eerie calm that they knew did not belong.
"Come follow me." Elder Maiden Frulen spoke.
They were floating in the air. Not with their own power, the power of the world, or even the Elder Maidens powers. They just were floating.
Rex tried to imagine himself flying. It failed miserably. The other women did not dare to take a chance.
"You have to let the world accept your being. Otherwise, you all will end up like him." Elder Maiden Justor told them with another Elder Maiden carrying Rex.
"I am Elder Maiden. I always forget my name so just call me that." This one the women could see the robe had lies written on it.
This confused them because it should have been better than that.
"Lies, even though they can make the sting of what happens better. In fact, she has to lie even when Frulen is in front of her. Those powers contradict each other." The Elder Maiden who spoke had life on her robe.
"Parden me, I am Hono. My ability as an Elder Maiden is Life. Although my home is where the calm is, it is truly far from that when you hear the explanation about that area." Elder Maiden Hono explained.
The women were actually grateful to Rex for once not being able to do what is normally accepted. Something tugged at the back of Luna's mind about this ordeal.
Normally getting used to a world is not difficult or even being accepted by the world in the Forbidden Worlds. Rex was struggling to get any kind of acceptance.
"Is he truly struggling or is it the world not accepting him?" Luna asked.
Elder Maiden Hono looked at Luna. She could tell that the words were not part of any act but one of wisdom after searching for a decent world to live in.
"The ritual for a new Game Master is underway. When the ritual started here in the Elder Maiden World. The Game Master does not get accepted into the world until either the Game Master gets chosen or the person decides to forget about the Game Master." Elder Maiden Hono explained.
The women were shocked. This was more than just that being shocked. This was something that happened every once in a while unless someone or something powerful get ahold of the Game Board.
"How many Game Boards are there in total?" The Shadow Queen asked out of curiosity.
"I heard at one time there were almost ten boards in every world or realm that at least had ten people living in it." Elder Maiden Hono replied without a care.
This shocked the Shadow Queen. There was the possibility of even more powerful trying to hurt Rex. She did not like it at all.
"Remember this maiden in love, the Game Master has to either be powerful or be able to have powerful backers. Right now, Rex has both." Elder Maiden Hono replied then urged the group to follow her.
The women flew without using their abilities. Rex was upset about this but had to admit that it was cool watching them fly.
"Technically, we are gliding to our location. No matter where we truly be at we are slowly being lowered but to the untrained eye we are flying around with speed and precision of beings that truly do not have to stop." Elder Maiden Hono told Rex.
This made him feel slightly better even then. He wanted to know what this place truly was. He would not get the answers he sought but the easiness of getting to the part that was the calmest was now easier than normal.
As they landed, Elder Maiden Hono frowned at Elder Maiden Frulen. The table was set with food that looked so bad that even pets would not dare to look at.
"What is this food?" Elder Maiden Hono asked.
"Food for the Ritual." Elder Maiden Frulen replied.
The smell alone seemed to be too good to be true by what they saw. No one dared to complain. They sat down and tried a bite of the food.
Only Rex seemed to vomit the food. Everyone else found it quite pleasing.
"Rex, this food will make the ritual go by smoother." Elder Maiden Frulen spoke with care unlike the food he tasted.
"Why am I the only one vomiting then?" Rex barely could finish before vomiting again.
"The ritual has several different moving pieces. This food is what will help guide you to where you need to be." She told him with absolute truth.
Rex could barely vomit anymore. He looked at the food. His mind full of nothing but regret. He still tried to take a bite.
This time it tasted heavenly. It was as if the previous bite had to force everything out of his stomach just to taste this bite.
He quickly shoved everything down his throat. He even got another plate full of whatever the food was because it was so good.
As the meal silently came to a close. The Fifth Elder Maiden came up to the group. She looked older than anyone around but that was far from the truth.
She was the youngest and had gotten the previous Game Master into the position and had aged due to the power suction that the ritual caused after selecting one too powerful.
"Elder Maiden Frulen it is a shame that we have to align like this." The Elder Maiden spoke.
Everyone turned towards her. She could barely walk or stand without a cane in hand. She had too many wrinkles on her face to know that she was not someone truly in a grand position.
"Excuse me younglings, my name Elder Maiden Granter. My name changed when the current Game Master got accepted into position.
Due to the power suction of that woman, it has taken a toil on me. I hope that I do not take too much of your time for this wonderful occasion." Elder Maiden Granter talked in a voice that seemed too much like an elderly person on their death bed.
