Once the trio made it to the others. They all took the time to travel close to the Stairway where it usually appears. It is usually random but in the Eighth Realm, it likes a few spots more than others.
As they traveled, Iris was feeling weird. Liz took the initiative to ask Iris how her trip was. Iris groaned with pain.
Liz could tell the pain Iris was feeling was not a good pain at all. She had seen her truly in pain and did not want her to be like that. The Shadow Princess decided to answer Liz.
"The trip was a success. However, she took the most painful route in getting her Shadow Cloak. It is a lot more painful for a Shadow Person to obtain the Shadow Cloak like this than a blooded humanoid.
Even if the person is does not take the painful route. During the time of their usage, they can take a lot of pain. Taking the pain now vs their usage can be a blessing. Then again, it also depends on how much they use the Cloak on how much pain they get." The Shadow Princess explain in a eager tone.
Liz was more than eager to learn about the process. Even with the process about the pain being explained. Liz knew that there was a lot not explained. She was fine with it for now.
If the Shadow Cloak would be something that the others would need or want. Rex would make sure that they got it too. Liz did not dwell on the not important parts.
The group arrived at one of the favorite spots. Of course they made sure to stay near the edge of the clearing. Iris had finally stopped being in pain. The Shadow Princess waited for Iris to be in good shape before merging with her Cloak.
She could have just jumped in and not worried about the consequences. However, that could have killed Iris while she gained more power through the Shadow Cloak. She did not want the power through killing her.
Not only that, she was absolutely sure that if something did happen to her. Her family would die. She did not want that.
As the night descended, the group camped out. Iris finally managed to feel like talking after recouping.
"How was the trip?" Liz asked again.
"The trip itself was amazing and weird." Iris stated.
She was not sure how to completely explain the trip. Iris wanted to talk more about the shadows than anything.
"So, the place we entered in the seal was darker than midnight but still light enough to see the pathway. When people saw the shadows moved without you moving, that did happen.
It was not because the shadows were alive. It was due to the Royal Family actually using them to watch out. They could tried sneak attacks on us but seeing Rex they did not.
If it had been any other person or Shadow Person, they would have killed on the spot. Of course, this is only my intuition.
The Royal Knights got to train Rex in using the Shadow Cloak properly. It was weird in the fact that it looked more like him using the system but more fluid and he could take the weapons out of other Shadow Cloaks.
From what I heard that should have been impossible. That is our Soul Mate, doing the impossible even with all us together." Iris explained in an excited tone at the end.
Even Liz felt happy about that. No matter how happy they were, they had to wait until rhe end of the War to be happy with Rex. The timing was close, but it felt farther away now than before.
The women did not rest. They talked about various other things before realizing that they spent the entire night talking. Of course, they could have stopped at any time. During the excited talks, they could not think of time.
In the distance, the Stairway had appeared where it liked. As the group neared the Stairway, a feeling of death enveloped them. Rex was not happy with that. He was ready to fight.
Whatever was emitting the feeling of death was either from inside the Stairway or around them currently. Rex took the women and led them inside the Stairway.
Lilith had returned to the Demon Realm during the night. This was to be prepared for the War coming. She needed everyone at their best or be sent as fodder to be at the frontlines while the best sweep the battlefield.
Even with the greatest of them ready, no one was prepared to enter the Ninth Realm and be ready for war.
