The ruined world had become a silent witness to their battle. The buildings surrounding the central square had been reduced to even greater ruins, as if that was still even possible.
Every collision between Clyde and the white serpent sent shockwaves through the area. When red and blue-white lightning collided, the resulting explosions pushed debris away from the battlefield in all directions.
After several more exchanges, the area within several hundred meters of the square had been almost completely cleared. Broken concrete, metal, glass, and pieces of buildings pushed and scattered far into the distance.
The white serpent was covered in wounds. A long gash stretched across the left side of its body. Blood poured continuously from its eyes, running down its pale face and dripping from its jaws. One of its wings had been torn badly, while its tail had been severed by Clyde's sword. But the monster was still alive, and its fighting spirit was still burning.
