Walking out from the back of the kitchen, in a few steps I saw Liu Bo by the water pond.
"Grandpa Liu, why are you fishing here today?"
By the water pond grew a large cypress tree, under which Liu Bo sat with a very short fishing rod. Beside him was a large wooden basin, occasionally making water sounds.
"I've found that the fish in this pond seem to taste better."
As he spoke, the float moved slightly, and with a lift of the rod, Liu Bo pulled up a hand-sized crucian carp.
"Your Auntie's sister is pregnant and said she wanted to eat fish from our place, so here I am, fishing."
Liu Bo took the crucian carp off and placed it in the wooden basin, then threw the hook back into the pond before taking the ice slush Xiao Mi handed over: "Oh, it's ready. Thank you, Xiao Mi."
Liu Bo, being older, had his ice slush portion strictly controlled, with only half a bowl, even less than Xiao Mi's.
