A girl with Pastel Rainbow hair was pickpocketing people. David noticed this but chose to ignore it. Perhaps it's the oddly familiar he has with the girl.
To V, everything went as the show… showed? David met Lucy, Lucy sexually harass a 17-year-old boy who just lost his mother, Lucy then strangles David with monowire, Lucy offers David a job to steal from suits, blah blah blah. V thought that David would reject her because of the 50 million eddies she had given him to work with, but he accepted the offer to steal. V was surprised, after all, 50 million eddies were no small amount to anyone. Eddieds to USD would be 1 USD = 4 eddies 50 million divided by 4 is 12,500,000. So V has no clue why David needed more money.
The entire day went off as expected. David goes with Lucy, and David meets Edgerunner. V was there the whole time, no one could see her since she was in camo. Yeah, total invisibility was totally not busted at all, what do you mean~
However, not everything went as planned. There was 1 extra person with the Edgerunners. A male. Someone who never appeared in the show. This immediately puts V on guard and her hand on the trigger.
The man started approaching David and V stop the invisibility and pointed a gun at the man.
"Whoa what the fuck is this?!" Piller was surprised at the sudden appearance of V. The rest of the crew points their own gun at her. Despite all the guns being pointed at her, she acted like they weren't there at all.
"Who are you?" The man asked.
"I could say the same thing to you"
"V?! What the hell are you doing here!?" David spoke suddenly and surprised everyone in the room because he knows her and the fact that "V" was her name.
"V? Like V V?" The man looked at David and then at V.
"Uaa?" V stopped pointing at the man and then grabbed him outside. The crew was too stunned to speak because someone they know was also named V…
"So who are you?" V questioned.
"Well, my name here is V. " 'V' scratched his head a little.
"What? Then if your V and I'm V then…"
"That's right. I'm not from this world, just like you."
"Ok, this is making my head hurt. Then if your V and I'm also V, just call me Cal"
"Cal? That's an odd-"
A/N - Name switch here and to avoid any confusion, the girl V is now Callahan, Cal for shorts. The man is V, just V. So our mc's name is mostly referred as Cal or Callahan.
Cal then gave him a cold glare. V then stops speaking.
"So how long have you been in this world?" Cal asked.
"A year or so." V shrugged.
"1 year? I've only been here for a week or 2."
V's phone then rang as he picked the phone from his pocket and ensure the call, "Hello?"
"Hello V this is Wakako Okada, I have a job for you."
"Oh Wakako, what sup choom? Need something?"
"A rich suit wants to hire someone to kill all the Animal gangs in Santo Domingo. Apparently, one of them killed and robbed his son."
"Come on Wakako, you know that I'm not good with gigs like these. I'm more of a stealthy guy. However, I may know someone who is interested in your offer." V said while looking at Cal.
Cal stood there and nodded to V, "I'll take it."
"She said she will take the job," V announced
"Are you sure that she can complete the job?"
"Haha, I'm more than sure."
"Alright tell her to contact me after she finished the job." Wakako sighed before hanging up the phone.
"Looks like you got your first job here." V grinned.
"Give me her contact info, I'll call her in a bit."
"Right I almost forgot to tell you this, remember this is no game. Even as strong as V is in canon, we can't expect Adam Smasher is the same 'cut of fuckable meat' he is in-game. Also cyberwares."
"What about cyberwares?"
"Don't get any new ones. Only use the one you have or used before. If you ever get new from 'here' cyberwares installed, then you will experience cyberpsychosis. You can use your former cyberwares though. "
"Alright, I can work with that. Honestly, it makes sense that V does not completely have immunity to cyberpsychosis. Thanks for the info." Cal opened the door leading from the room to the outside.
Most of Maine's crew was trying to listen to the conversation Cal and V were having. Almost all of them put their ear to the door and all fell down when Cal opened the door. A few people like Lucy and Kiwi just did not care.
Cal look at the crew who is on the ground and grabbed David,
"David, you are going to have some revenge," Cal said before dragging him out of the room.
Now in Cal's car again, David was confused. What did she mean by revenge? Is it the Animal gang? How does she know?
"V-"
"Call me Cal." Cal chimed in and did not let David finish his sentence while her eyes were on the road.
"Cal? Ok Cal, what do you mean by revenge?" David looked at her with a serious face.
"We are going to eradicate some animals. This will be a learning experience for you."
David was still asking question after question after question. Cal did not mind this at all, instead, she has her own thing to think about.
'V has given some valuable info. If I can't buy or get cyberware and use them, this will be extremely bad for me in the long run. Tech will continue to improve and as soon as someone gets an edge over me, I'm dead. I will have to kill Adam Smasher soon if I want to continue with my plans.'
Cal was driving and thinking before David interrupted her thoughts.
"Cal stop the car!"
"Haa?" Cal heard David and hit the brakes, "What is it, kid?"
"Animal gang." David pointed to his left.
"Alright out kid." Cal opened the door and got out of her car.
The animal gang noticed Cal and David as soon as they entered their territory. They could smell money if they got close to them. What did they want to do? Rob them of course.
