"Billie, my beautiful boy, can we quickly talk for a moment before I leave?" Ma smiled down to me as she ran her fingers through my hair.
I sighed and shook my head, "if you want me to take you for another shopping spree, you gon have to wait Ma. I don't think your closet can handle anything more."
"Why are you like this?" she laughed as I followed her to the sunroom on my mobility scooter.
"I'm just saying," I shrugged, "I love you but you need an intervention."
That made her laugh harder as she sat down on the couch. I slowly stood up from the scooter and with her help sat down next to her. Benedito was with Pedro in the office discussing business.
Ma's giggles soon died down and she very gently took my hand and clasped it between her small warm hands. She sighed suddenly looking very serious which made me pout in confusion. "I don't want to make you upset Bobby, but you got to promise me you gon keep an open mind, okay?"
