"What I'm saying in essence is,I think I like you and I would want you to be my girlfriend"
Michelle couldn't believe her ears. Did Alex just confessed that he like her?Or was she in a dreamland?She hadn't heard from him since the day they had dinner together. She had thought he doesn't want to have anything to do with her again. She thought of going to his house to see for herself if everything was truly okay with him but she doesn't want to give the wrong impression. She should at least have a little self respect besides,as a lady,she is supposed to have pride so she brushed off the thought. It been a week she heard from him or saw him only for him to appear at her work place today.
He waited till her working time was over and invited her to sit for a tea. Then he told her he likes her.
"Alex what the hell are you talking about?"You disappeared a week ago. I heard nothing from you only for you to appear again out of nowhere and tell me you like me. Are you sure you are okay?"She asked infuriated. She was still mad at him for not reaching her since a week now.
"I'm sorry Michelle. look,I purposely stayed away from you when I started noticing my likeness towards you. At first,I thought it was mere infatuation but the more I tried denying it,the more I keep thinking about you. That was also why I decided to stay away from you for a week,to see if whatever I feel for you will disappear but I was wrong. the one week was like hell on earth for me. Look Michelle,I love you more than you can imagine. please just give me a chance."Alex explained.
So this is finally happening. Alex is finally asking her to be his girlfriend. she had expected this to happen but she know it was gonna happen this soon. She was so excited and tried to hide it but she couldn't. she ended up blushing.
"Okay, fine,I agree to be your girlfriend Alex"She finally replied after what seemed like eternity.
"Really?Thanks babe. This really means allot to me. Thanks allot baby"Alex replied excitedly.
"No problem but you aren't trying to date just because you want to use me to get over your ex. Are you?"She asked worriedly with a childish look.
"No babe. I can't do that to you. I really love you and as a matter of fact,I'm over Kafy already."
They discussed a few other things and both left the tea shop. Alex escorted her home and also headed home.
A WEEK LATER
"Hi son"Mr Wilson voice sounded from the other side of the phone.
"Hi dad. What's up?How was your honeymoon?"Alex asked. He already knows the reason his father was calling.
"It was fantastic son. I had allot of nice moments with my wife."Mr Wilson replied.
"The main reason for calling is to remind you of your promise son. You know promises are meant to be kept"Mr Wilson reminded.
"Sure dad. I just need to clear a few things. Your son will be home by tomorrow. And I also got a new girl dad"
Alex then explained everything that transpired between he and Michelle to his dad.
"Wow. It seems to me that she is a good girl. You just need to bring her home for proper introduction and then we proceed with the wedding arrangements. You aren't getting any younger son"Mr Wilson said.
"Sure dad. it's just a matter of time. I gotta go now dad. See you tomorrow. I love you dad"He reminded and hung up.
