Alex drifted into thought, weighing how best to weather the storm that was fast approaching. He knew his options, few as they were.
Zero was his best option, perhaps his only real one, and as for Magnus, getting help from him was a possibility, but he would exhaust all other means before considering it.
Magnus was far from a simple man, and even further from a good one. At best, he walked the gray line, and at worst, he was a monster.
He was born with power, standing at the top of the world, and now being in that position of power was his nature, and in the new order that was about to rise, he would desire nothing more than to secure his place.
Alex also knew that much of what Magnus had revealed would have eventually come to light on its own once he returned to the real world. Still, he couldn't deny the advantage a head start provided, especially when the lives of his people depended on it.
Even so, Magnus's intentions were anything but honest.
