Chapter 22 - Ch 21 - Rememberance

The red recedes to the edge of my vision as I am looking down towards a piece of paper. My body moves on its own regardless of my will, I am just forced to watch.

Moving to sign the page on the dotted lines with the blood-red pen however before I wrote down my wager for the trade everything stood still even the red man with his busted grin. The word turned blood red and oil black, a strange mix pond and spread out from me as the center. As I could only move my eyes I explored everything I could till I met the eye staring back at me from the pool below me.

"I cannot accept this leave this instant." The Howl echoed out in rage shaking this false world as it met his glare.

That voice that I hadn't heard in forever shook me but its words of protest fell on deaf ears as my body moved again. Turning away from it I look back to the page and as soon as it starts writing the false world seems to melt away. But before it is truly gone I hear it saw one last thing.

"I will make sure you remember this." The Beast's voice mellowed and receded into mind. As I finish signing I show it to the red man

"How about this?" I ask, handing the red man the contract, his long-clawed fingers reaching out and taking the contract out of my hand. Looking Through the Paper his eyes seemed to grow and even his smile that broke his cheeks grew to a smile that reached ear to ear.

"Perfect." His word was so potent the rest of the bar seemed to freeze unable to withstand its intensity.

"To give up your mind for peace, how truly unparalleled in desperation." His words replayed in my head words I never should have forgotten but it was already too late.

He seemed to distort and glow, not reflect the light of my manna, and signed his part on the document with surprising dexterity for his stiff fingers. and in an instant, it was finished I felt a cold begin to press down and seep into me deep deep within but it vanished in an instant like a bad wind.

Looking up at him again he was different more refined more contained, his presence was no longer a stain to look at he could pass for human. with a cheerful smile, he reached out his hand to me and I graciously accepted. Shaking it a weight was removed from my shoulders and fell euphoric and finally released from what was choking me these last few days.

"Oh yes, one last thing?" I hear his voice as smooth as honey calling out to me so I turn around to meet his gaze. As soon as I do I see a black-suited figure rush towards me and right into me the feeling crushing my chest as it dissolves and enters through my mouth. As I fall to the floor, as the darkness begins to overtake my vision the last thing I see is his smile.

"AH Ah aaaaah" I instinctively cry out as I wake up and try to move. My muscles cried out to me causing me to spasm sending me into a pain spiral where I spasmed and then tried to move away from the pain.

"Was you slapie lekker?" Adam said looking down upon me from above my head.

"What Happened?" I manage to get out through gritted teeth meeting his gaze

"Good news, you awakened your Aura, and bad news, your Beast of Cain."

"Hi there" a familiar and harsh voice echoed in my head and a feeling of dark joy fills me, though I am not its origin.

"Let's get you sorted first." He said kneeling down next to me and reaching his hand out from over my body.

""The Lord protects and preserves them— they are counted among the blessed in the land— he does not give them over to the desire of their foes. The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed fullness. I said, "Have mercy on me, Lord; heal me, for I have sinned against you."" As his voice dies down my body heats up and permeates my body the pleasant heat softens my body and relaxes my muscles letting me get back up after a few seconds. With a hand from Adam, I end up on my feet with little issue. But as I can see he has a few scratches on him but he dismisses them with a flip of the wrist.

"Good you are awake now let's kill him while we still can he is too strong for you." his words were a painful reminder though it did feel as if i piece of me was returned. an unknowing smile began to spread across my face.

"Anything that you want to tell me." Adam pulled me back to reality

"He says I must murder you." a dark grin flashed across Adam's face as he looked right into my eyes.

"Tell him if he wants another ass whopping to come on out." from his words and the growing feeling of anger that I was feeling I realized why I was so sore. unconsciously shaking my head I made another realisation, we had moved. As I looked all around

"Your angry side was being a nuisance so I needed to make sure he couldn't hurt anybody." Nodding I begin stretching and flexing my muscles for the presumably long run home.

"Well now that you are whole again we can get onto the real training." his tone caused an instant reaction he looked pleased though but only after I brought my sword up between us did I see a new light emanating from it the red light of the first blood.
