After freshening up, I got ready and went to a supermarket located close to the house. I had a lot to buy for the house, so I took a shopping cart and began selecting the items I wanted to buy. While buying, I bumped into someone, and when I wanted to apologize, I saw him. It was like a dream because what I saw could be qualified as impossible. He was the man of my dreams, my savior, and for the first time, I felt safe... safe with someone of the opposite sex. I can't explain this feeling, but I felt at ease. I was lost in thought.
Dan's POV: I was trying to purchase some stuff for my mom when I bumped into someone—to be precise, a beautiful lady. I had seen a lot of beauties, but this particular woman sparked something in me that I had never felt before. I felt like I had met her before, and gosh, she is so beautiful, natural, and looks pure. Her rich black afro hair was tied in a bun, and her simple looks made her more gorgeous and attractive. Her perfectly shaped body drew me more to her, and the fact that she was lost in thought makes her look cute too. I wish you could see her—so beautiful, so innocent, and enchanting. I couldn't hold back, so I spoke to her. "Are you alright?" No response. I had to repeat myself again, and this time around, I touched her, and to my greatest surprise, she stepped backward with fear written all over her face.
Lana's POV: I was still lost in thought when I felt his hand on me. I got scared and took a few steps backward. I'm still not used to the opposite sex touching me. I saw him coming closer to me; he said, "Miss, are you alright? I hope I didn't hurt you." "N...no...no, you didn't hurt me," I said, stuttering. "I...did not see you. I'm sorry for bumping into you," I said, and he responded, "No...no, you do not need to worry. I didn't see you either. Just forget about this little incident. Can I know your name?" That question got bells ringing in my mind, and I had to leave. "Sorry, sir...I...I have to leave."
Dan's POV: I wanted to know her, but her reaction surprised me. It seems she was trying to run away from me when I asked her name, but I couldn't let her go just like that. I need to have her name at least, so I moved toward her and asked her to give me her name, something she did reluctantly, but I loved the name. Lana, yes Lana. I wanted to have her phone number, but she rejected me and left. I stayed in the same spot, watching her leave without saying a word, just having some thoughts.
Lana's POV: I had no other choice than to tell him my name. No matter the feeling I had being with him, I could not just erase the fear and weariness I had grown from so many years. I couldn't just fall for the feelings I had on first sight. I don't trust myself, and I don't think something positive is ever going to come to me from the opposite gender. I finished selecting the things I wanted and paid for them before ordering a cab to drop me home. On my way back home, I couldn't stop thinking about this man I met at the supermarket and the vibes he gave.
