Chapter 11 - New Resident of Sky Mountain

The battle ended a little earlier than Gormlaith thought it would.

Sure the arrow came, killing three of the seven dragons, but even if it didn't these dragons—though larger than they were used to—were weak compared to Nirn's dragons.

It confirmed it even when she absorbed four of the dragons' souls.

The dragon souls felt…lacking, as if they were only ¼ of the dragon souls from Tamriel.

Now seven dragons lay dead below the gates of Krieg, and she knows exactly what to do with them.

"Lady Gormlaith, forgive me for not being present in the battle!" King Marco said as he breathed heavily.

She smiled. "Worry not, King Marco. This was a needed battle, my blade has been growing dull."

"Can you have some of your men haul these dragons towards the mountain? I'm sure Lord Nathaniel would be pleased with them as trophies and for a feast."

"Ahhh yes of course, I can do that…a…feast?" King Marco paused.

"Yes, have you not had dragon meat?" Gormlaith asked.

"I…have not." King Marco answered.

How would someone like him eat dragon meat? He hasn't seen one until now let alone touch one but eating a dragon?! That thought never crossed his mind.

Craaaack

Mushan broke off a tooth before letting it float towards Nathaniel.

"So all I have to do is bring this to your people and I can meet your leaders?" Nathaniel asked.

"Yes, Lord Immortal." Mushan nodded but kept his head low.

He tried answering all the questions Arniel had but he couldn't hold it anymore, he had to leave this place.

He was surrounded by immortal monsters, beings that could literally obliterate him with a mere motion.

He was worried at first because the Majeston Mage (Arniel Gane) and the Immortal Warrior (Hakon) insisted he stay, but thankfully Nathaniel seemed to understand him and granted him permission to leave.

Once he leaves he must immediately inform the Council of Five Tribes of these irregular beings.

"Would you like to take some things with you? Maybe some food or something to ease your travel?" Nathaniel asked with a genuine smile.

He didn't know why but to Nathaniel he felt that Mushan was a child, a child he felt the need to take care of.

"Tha-that is alright, Lord Immortal. This one appreciates your care." The dragon shook its head quickly.

"Very well, then you may go. Safe travels."

WHOROOOOSSSHHHH

"Fare well!" Mushan roared as he dashed through the skies leaving a shockwave, worried Nathaniel might change his mind.

"Hahaha, quite adorable."

"Lord Nathaniel, had we kept him we could have learned much more than we know. That dragon is quite knowledgeable, especially towards this realm's history." Arniel complained.

"I wanted to scare him a bit more with my stories." Hakon deflated.

"Hahahahaha, worry not, you will all be able to travel throughout this world soon enough." Nathaniel stated with a chuckle.

The two perked up, even Felldir and the flaming giant wolf Cupcake.

"Truly?! You mean it, Lord Nathaniel?!" Arniel asked with wide eyes.

"Yes, truly."

The only reason Nathaniel prohibited them from leaving him or the mountain is because he didn't know how dangerous the world was.

But now it is a little bit clearer than before, because the dragon Mushan cleared up where they stood in this world's power system and they weren't weak.

Of course, the days they had spent testing their capabilities could confirm how powerful they were, but it still wasn't clear even if they were powerful enough to destroy this mountain with a simple fireball.

"We are back."

Gormlaith announced as she floated down with King Marco in tow.

"Good work, how was it?" Nathaniel asked her.

"…they disappoint me, these dragons would not fare well against ours. Even the warriors of Tamriel back in our days would be disappointed with how weak these dragons are." Gormlaith frowned.

"Well we'll find worthy opponents soon enough." Felldir said with a smile.

"Prepare yourself, Gormlaith! For Lord Nathaniel has granted us permission to venture out into this world!" Hakon announced excitedly.

"Truly?!"

The others confirmed it with her, King Marco was smiling as well but he wasn't sure how safe the Kingdom of Ladon will be once they all go out to their adventures.

Of course, there was no reason to think the worst, but their arrival seemed to have caught the dragon's attention. Who knows what other factions would come in the future.

"You're all free to travel, but in one condition…" Nathaniel smirked.

"You must put time and effort to improve either the defenses or the power of this kingdom. We are now citizens of this land and we can't leave until we take some safety measures."

"Oh, quite the idea my lord. So that we won't have to worry about our new home when we are out and about." Felldir thought.

"I have some ideas for the kingdom walls, I see many ways of improvement. And weapons, perhaps some new weapons to arm the men of Ladon." Hakon stated thoughtfully.

King Marco's face lit up from that.

Nathaniel nodded. "Great idea, improvement on not only its defenses but its power."

"How about some Menhir stones? It would help greatly towards the paths the people will take." Felldir suggested.

"Perfect, but we will need to have a further discussion for that." Nathaniel nodded again, but he knew if the standing stones appeared in this world then ANYONE can use it. That won't do, he wants to keep its usage strictly within this kingdom.

"Menhir…stones?" King Marco mumbled confusedly.

"Yes, they are stones that give you special abilities, affinities or skills when touched. These blessings are connected to the constellations of our world, but it might be different here." Felldir explained.

King Marco's heart thumped, finding it hard to believe these words. Stones? That gives you abilities? Blessings?!

"I am willing to pass on my training routine and experiences of the sword techniques I've learned in my adventures." Gormlaith offered.

Nathaniel glanced to the side at King Marco with a raised brow.

"Y-yes! That would be—it would be an honor to learn from you!" King Marco nodded rapidly, everything he is offered right now by these immortal beings is heaven sent.

"Great!" Nathaniel chuckled, then turned towards Arniel Gane who was looking towards the city with no interest in what's going on. "Arniel, if you can aid the city in whatever way you can, then I won't bother you for a while."

"Dragon Soul." Arniel simply said.

Nathaniel raised a brow.

He noticed a little change from the mage and he knew that the whole planet of unknown they are in currently is itching his brain aggressively.

"I will cast a ward around this kingdom with the soul of a dragon powering it, but it won't be a dragon of this world." Arniel huffed with a crossed arm.

Nathaniel smirked, not because he thought about the same idea, which he did, but because he knew Arniel only wanted a Dragon Soul from Nirn just for the chance to study it.

"You will have it."

"As for Lucien." Nathaniel spoke out his name and Lucien's head peeked out from the ground through a puddle of shadows. "You still have the task of shadowing Marco whenever he leaves, but for the time being observe the city and make a list of any threats and hand it to him, he will decide what to do with it."

"Yes, Lord." He disappeared.

"Now Marco, have you ever had a dragon meal?" Nathaniel asked.

He reached out his hand towards the entrance of the city, where the soldiers were struggling and finding no humanly possible ways to move the dead dragons towards the mountain on the other side of the city.

His telekinesis flowed and soon reached the dragons, glowing in a blue light before each of them floated up and moved towards the mountain.

That sudden change terrified the soldiers, thinking the dragons had come back alive.

Three months later.

Changes came throughout the past three months. The people of Ladon didn't have much chance to rest as they helped build the wall around the city.

The original wall was used as a base while the new wall rose to more than 10 meters in height.

Such a big project would have taken at least a year and some months but Hakon worked like a dog to get it done.

Of course Nathaniel helped, it was pretty fun for him. He used magic freely to quicken the process.

And today the wall finally finished.

Felldir stayed in the mountains for the majority of the time reading upon the celestial constellations of this world, or better yet Spirit Kings descended from mortals.

Apparently to create standing stones like those in Skyrim, one had to learn of spiritual beings that give aid to lesser beings.

Felldir had to learn and practice how to call upon their names and receive their blessings before he could enchant a connection into the stones for others to use.

So far there was the Warrior Stone and Mage Stone, but for this world it has been changed into God of War and Primordial Sorcerer in this world.

These two entities were known to be legendary figures that have ascended to spiritual beings that dwell between the realms of mortal and divine.

And their stones were placed in the city center, for all to use.

Strictly for Ladon Kingdom Citizens, any outsiders that attempts to try connecting to it would find themselves looking stupid, for the stones don't answer to them.

So Felldir's project is still ongoing.

Gormlaith finished earlier than the others, she simply recorded down her training methods and a few sword techniques from her adventures in Tamriel before tossing it to King Marco and disappearing into the lands of Terra for her new adventures.

Arniel Gane is still casting enchantments on the Dragon Soul Gem given to him by Nathaniel.

His ward over the city could have been finished in merely three weeks but he used his time to study the Dragon soul instead.

His excuse being that he needs to cast layers of enchantment on the gem for it to be used for the ward.

But he forgets that he wasn't the only skilled enchanter between them.

Even now Nathaniel could have simply waved his hand and cast a ward over the city simply but still left it to Arniel.

The more Arniel learns the more they know.

Hakon has turned to teaching some of the kingdom's blacksmiths on forging weapons and armors the way he does, which proved to be better than this kingdom's blacksmiths.

He also put together a forging area up in the Sky Mountain for him and Nathaniel to use.

Nathaniel made a stone stage near the lodge and has been used for Prince Leo and a new disciple that the Sky Mountain Immortals have taken in.

Arthur.

A young boy a just a year younger than the prince who had lost his parents some time ago.

The two have been sparring in the stone stage for some time now, it was a routine for them after training an entire day.

Arthur himself had quite the story while the prince had been learning how to be a warrior and a wise king from the so-called immortals in Sky Mountain.

Nathaniel sat on a chair with his legs up watching the two spar to their hearts content when Felldir approached Nathaniel.

"Felldir, I see you have finished."

"I have."

"And what have you found for our third stone?" Nathaniel asked.

"The Prince of Darkness." Felldir revealed.

"Oh?"

The first stone was connected to the God Of War, borrowing his name to bless those who touched his stone just like in Skyrim's Warrior Stone.

The Mage Stone connected to The Primordial Sorcerer. All beings who ruled their era in history before ascending to a higher plane.

As for the third stone, The Prince of Darkness?

"Reminds me of a certain daedric prince we know of." Nathaniel chuckled.
