Calcam leaves the room and carries the figure from the floor, the one who attacked us earlier.
Someone we now know to be another student of the program.
We rush out right after, everywhere is peaceful.
The academy seems calm. Why was matthews this worried? Nothing seems to be happening.
I look at James, "What do we do?"
"I don't think there's much for us to do, this is not our fight. We're just students. Call me selfish but we have to look after ourselves first. Find your sister and let's get out of here. I'll stay with arielle."
When i hear this i'm skeptical and worried, should we really be splitting up? but i hear james.
What could we do against a demon?
Plus it's the academy, we have powerful staffs.
I hurry up to find Freya.
While walking i looked at how weird the calm seems. No alarms, no screaming. Nothing, nothing at all.
For the fear i saw on calcam's face this felt uncanny in a sense.

I searched everywhere from classrooms to hallways to our training grounds. Nothing, i couldn't find her. Worry was setting in.
Where the hell was she?
"Freya?" i shouted out of desperation. People stared at me with judging eyes.
I paid them no mind and kept walking.
Then I felt it, that strange tingling sensation.
I stopped then the voice returned.
Be calm.
I didn't get shaken this time.
For some reason, hearing the voice no longer scared me.
There was a sense of familiarity i felt, like the voice meant me no harm.
Almost like guidance really.
Take deep breaths —— he added.
I did.
Think about your sister.
Confused i ask "What are you talking about?"
Spatial awareness.
Normally, when someone unlocks it, it starts small, about a fifty-metre radius.
But there's a caveat.
Your sister.
She's your sister, so you share a similar mana signature. Finding her will be like trying to find yourself.
I didn't completely understand but i did what the voice told me.
I closed my eyes, cleared my mind, blanked everything out.
For a moment, there was nothing.
Then— It felt like my mind had suddenly appeared in the clouds.
My awareness expanded, not physically.
Something else, something inside my mind.
I could feel the space around me.
The halls, the ground.
Everything within my range.
"Holy shit."

Now sync on her.
I slipped the thought of Freya into the front of my mind.
And just like that—
My mind locked onto a particular location.
There. I knew exactly where she was.
"Thank you," I muttered.
I shut off the spatial awareness.
Then I realized something, i still wanted to run like i was normal like i didn't have an ability that made distances feel like a step away but not now, now I had no time to act like i hadn't changed. Now i had to find freya.
Then i did it.
Shadow walking.
My body changed.
It was like I became a slither of darkness.
The world around me blurred.
And then I was gone.
When I entered that darkness mirage, it felt like the distance between everywhere had been cut in half.
Three seconds later, I reappeared at my destination.
I saw freya talking to a boy, I grabbed her arm.
Freya looked at me.
"What the hell is wrong with you?"
"There's no time. We have to go now."
She looked confused, analyzed me with worrisome eyes like she was about to argue, about to ask me why but she didn't.
She followed me.
We ran normally back toward the gate. I wasn't ready to reveal my powers to her yet.
Henry and Arielle were already there.
I joined them.
"We're leaving," I said.
Henry nodded.
"Good."
The plan was simple.
We'd go back to my place and stay there.
For now, that was the safest place we had.
