Gael slept for that whole day and the whole night. Even though he had threatened me not to wake him up, I had to because I couldn't let him go without eating. He ate and then went back to sleep. I didn't disturb him. I just lay down beside him and held him to me. I would be there for him till time immemmorial no matter how he looked and how his mood changed. All I wanted was for us to meet Aida and go back home. I felt like he would calm down more if he had his family with him around.
The following morning Gael woke up happy and refreshed. He even apologized for throwing a tantrum the previous day and crying. He was also baffled on why he would cry out of the blue.
"If I have gained weight, all I have to do is exercise and cut it, why did I have to cry? Aiiii! I don't understand myself nowadays. One day I'm like a damsel in distress and the next I'm the Alpha that I'm supposed to be. What do you think could be wrong baby?" He asked me after a long monologue and I smiled at him.
Damn! If I knew what the problem was I would have helped solve it already. Not that I dislike how he was these days but how he wasn't happy. I would be glad to see my usual jovial, childish, strong-fated one back with me again.
"I don't know baby. What I know is, after we meet Aida, she will be able to help you....us," I corrected fast after I saw the look he threw at me.
Damn! My Gael could be so scary if he chose to. Yesterday, I had sent messengers all over town asking people to meet us at exactly ten of the morning at the community ground. The messengers had strict instructions not to reveal who the message came from. They didn't know anyway because we sent the gang leader, his name is Jim by the way, and I knew he could keep a secret. The man literally ate at our feet.
Anyway, all we had to do now was get ready and go wow the people of this town. Imagine their surprise when they realized that I'm royalty and Gael is a Griffin (smiles, wicked smiles). I could even kill that chief if he misbehaved and refused to relinquish his seat and no one could do anything about it.
After breakfast, we got ready and together with Jim and Mrs. Chao, we left for the meeting ground. There were already people there and they were all speculating on who could have called the meeting. No one seemed to know except us four and we were just standing there watching, listening and waiting for the chief to show up. People were talking and wishing that it wasn't the chief who summoned them to impose yet another unreasonable demand on them.
By then, he had not arrived and we decided to wait and he showed up two hours later with an entourage of guards and with all the pomposity he could master. Gael almost flipped over but I held him and talked to him via our link so as to cool him down. We had to wait and take this man down smoothly and give him no chance of ever recovering.
People parted to give Oni, the chief, way to the center of the circle and he asked with a voice that said that he was the highest authority in the town, "who called for this meeting? Don't you all know that I am a busy man and have no time for all this nonsense? If you are the one who called for it get here and explain yourself this instant!" He ordered and before I could say anything, Gael beat me to it.
"We did. We called for the meeting," he talked in his alpha voice for everyone to hear as he held my hand and pulled me and we went to stand next to Oni and his minions.
I relished the moment as Gael held my hand and I squeezed his hand in contentment and my little man twitched and I guess Gael could read my train of thought. He looked at me in a warning and talked to me through our link, "could you stop being horny all the time?" He reprimanded me and I smiled for being so obvious but I returned to my serious nature immediately that if you had not looked at us you couldn't tell that we had just communicated. I couldn't wait for us to be done here so I could go and eat (ahem) my man. I hope he stays this submissive always.
When Oni heard that we called for the meeting, he was surprised for a while but his facial expression returned to normal soon after feigning seriousness but we could tell that he was rattled and that's what we wanted.
"Why did you call for the meeting without informing me?" He asked and instead of answering him, I used Jay's voice that boomed in the whole ground and requested people to sit. Oni almost stumbled when he heard me talk like that.
He didn't expect it. The people were obedient. I think they were also surprised at the voice and everybody sat except us three and his guards.
Gael roared and said, "you will want to sit down too," he addressed the guards using Kay's voice and he sounded so menacing making then tremble and they sat without a question.
Oni almost peed on his pants. I guess he didn't expect this. (Ha ha ha ha. It felt gooooOOOOod!)
I then started addressing the people about why we called them. I said that the situation had to change and then I turned to Oni. I told him of all the crimes he had committed and how he misused his power and I think the thought of losing his seat made him courageous.
"Who do you think you are? Who gave you the authority to come and question my authority?" Oni questioned I guess struggling to hold on to straws to save his damned seat of power.
"The imperial house gave me the guts," Oni laughed at that. He thought I was joking and instead of answering him I changed to my centaur.
Wows and gasps filled the ground as most of the people saw a royal centaur for the first time. I stood there in all my majesty looking at Oni and he was so surprised looking at me with his eyes wide open.
"Do you need more evidence?" I asked in a voice that told him that I would crash him if he dared question me again.
"No your highness," he said kneeling as all the others.
Everybody was on their knees and I changed back and asked them to sit. The chief was trembling as he continued kneeling there. Maybe hoping I would be lenient with him. But he was dreaming. He had to pay for all these people's suffering.
We had a long discussion with the people and by the time we adjourned the meeting at around six of the evening, we had a new leader, Oni had released the spiritual energy and it was now flowing as it should be in the city, and he was on his way to the imperial court to face charges for his crimes. How did we do that? We wrote a letter detailing all of his sins and I opened a portal using one of the elders who had been to the capital of Aska and he went with Oni and four guards to make sure that he met his due punishment.
We sent them with evidence of all his misdoings and the letters he used to forge lying to the imperial house that all was well in his town. We made sure to that the new chief that the people chose was a good man and he would distribute everything in the chief's stores and treasury to the people.
Yes, they couldn't allow people to portal and fly anyhow but it was now better. We were to leave new rules for the town before we left.
It was a tiring day but all went well. We were done with this town and that brought a smile to my lips. We weren't worried about the royal family finding out that someone used their name because by the time they show up here, we would be long gone.
We were happy with our work because, for the first time since we arrived here, we saw the people smile genuinely.
It was all well.
