Chapter 38,
A Hybrid
Third Person's POV
In the Neutral Land, Angels and Devils are known to coexist with each other along with other dark and light type beings like demons, saints, and much more. Anyone who posses the power greater than a normal priest can become a saint and is required to live at the Neutral Land. If a child of a non-light or dark magic user can use either dark or light magic, then that child will be invited to a Hybrid Academy which is a step to Neutral Land. Whether the kid is qualified or not to become a 'Blessed' is up to the holy message they will receive when they graduate.
"I suggest you concede defeat," Simon insisted, "Even if you're a light magic user, it isn't mean your synchronization with light is as high as mine," he added.
"You wouldn't know until you try," Hiruki took a deep breath to keep himself calm and composed.
"It can't be helped then... Angels who rule the skies, Angels who protects us, grant me your power, Holy Soul" Simon prayed with his hands together and both eyes closed.
A faint light slowly appeared from above and slowly grew bright as time slowly passes. It grew so bright that everyone is blinded, but Hiruki is an exception.
The light went directly into Hiruki's direction, but faded into nothingness when it reached its destination. Only some surprised look came out of those who know.
What happened is no dispelling nor sealing of any magic, it's just that the light never intended to hurt. What can he do of he's a hybrid? Hybrids are loved by both light and darkness and can control both without going out of control.
That said, even if they don't go berserk, there's a possibility for a side to take over if the hybrid is unstable in some way; mentally, physically, emotionally—in any sense.
When darkness takes over, the vessel only thinks about violence, killing or bad thoughts while light barely and not many knows what happens. They based on what does angels do and have: purity and kindness.
Hiruki hid his right arm behind and secretly snapped it, as silent as he could. Slowly, silence covered the place. To be precise, it's not that it's silent, it's because his senses are slowly fading away. It was Hiruki's dark magic on the move.

Many graffiti are in the walls and no sight on humans are in range. Just this one—A man holding a bat.
His hair's dyed navy blue and two-winged, and his eyes as dark as the night of a quarter moon. His height is incomparably high and his hands and fingers are as long.
"Shall we get ready?" A four-eyed spoke from behind.
"This is going to be fun~!" Another one said.
"Let's get the party started..." The dark man grinned.

"What have you done?!" Simon looked at Hiruki with confusion and hostility.
He just plastered a smile on his face, and waved his hand. "What do your you think?" He grinned.
"You devil spawn. Never forget, light is always stronger than darkness!" His hand compassed, left and right hand into a colliding state.
Hiruki's eyebrows furrowed, not by complexion, but in the state of being wary. 'Defiant Light...'
He was sure in what he saw. The power to use light even on those angels and saints, Defiant Light. It is not dark magic, yet just a greater control of light. Although it doesn't deal much damage to light users or angels, it can still deal fatal injuries on some cases.
This is trouble for Hiruki since he's under the Darkened State wherein his body has full control over dark magic, and no condensation of light magic. Moreover, Simon's magic is too condensed that it could fully purify cursed items.
Light flowed into Simon's hands, and slowly covered Hiruki who had his struggles futile. Soon, it covered him whole, and left him unconscious inside a big white sphere made of light.
*Inside the Sphere*
Hiruki opened his eyes, knees weak, flingers fidgeting. He's in front of someone; his parents probably.
"M-Mom...c-can I...?" His father massaged his own temple.
"No, Hiruki, we have to do something today. Maybe next time, okay?" His mom intervened, holding him in his little hands.
He pulled back and took a little teddy bear on the floor, running back outside. There he bumped into his older brother, Hase.
Hāse crouched down, shifting his size into his little brother's, "Something's wrong Hiruki?"
He replied by nodding his head 'no'. "That's good, then. Can you do my files for me? I still haven't done the programming about the next conquest just yet." His eyes widened.
As he saw him, he ran once more, leading himself into the garden, panting and almost tearing up. No phrases nor words coming out of his mouth. As he thought he was safe from the sound, he heard the maids talking from nearby as they fixed the plants and flowers.
"His family is just too kind to make him feel special, despite being the useless one. Poor family he has," The head maid spoke to the other maids.
He clenched his jaw and hands, knowing words will be futile and may only come out as silence despite having the ability to release a hundred.
Tears slowly filled his eyes, his nose turning red. He ran through a nearby shade of a big tree, crouched down and left his tears falling off on their own.
Words echoed around from his memories, trapping him inside the drowning voices. A dark grin curved from his frown and his eyes completely going black. His tears dyed black and formed a pool around him as he laughed uncontrollably.
*Outside the Sphere*
Simon felt a tingling feeling inside him, and created traps of light outside the sphere for caution. If the sphere hasn't disappeared just yet, it means Hiruki is still fighting inside or the torment haven't reached its conclusion.
The light slowly cracked eventually and black-violet mist came sipping out of the cracks. It eventually covered a big portion of the arena, causing some abnormalities in viewing.
There revealed Hiruki covered in black aura and dark orbs orbiting him around hastily. In front of him floats a system window in turquoise green color.

He paused and brushed off the text in front. His eyes focused on his prey, his breath heavy as if it's already winter. Dark smoke coming out of his mouth the moments he exhaled.
Simon trembled, almost petrified, "What the heavens are you?!" He panicked, yet still unable to perform any lousy movements.
[You have fully manifested as a
He raised his hand, black fire coming out of it and slowly eating up Simon. No matter how many light he produced, it were all eaten by the darkness that keeps on spreading.
Deshy panicked, her eyes struck by the view, not until someone came to her immediately and whispered something. "W-Winner: Hiruki."
Hiruki paused, looking disappointed. He can't even take revenge for Simon's petty trick for him, but he was somewhat thankful that it helped him evolve into a higher species other than his human form.
Slowly, Hiruki's dark aura disappeared. His wings sprouted out, half black and half white. It covered him and transformed his clothes into something new, with a headdress half shaped like leaves made of gold while the other half made of black thorns like a wilted plant's. He wore a long white cloak with an extra clothing extending from the shoulders to the ground in black color covered with intricate designs. Eventually, the wings disappeared and transformed him back to his normal form, but the clothes still the same.
Hela was stopping the spreading darkness that Hiruki caused and exterminated it away to save Simon, who was still in shock. Hela just smiled at him and took him outside the arena for further inspection on his current state.
"Hiruki, that was amazing!" Koshiro cheered, making him blush.
"He's still in dark state, look at his hands," Hoshi stated as he pointed at Hiruki's hand who still has traces of black magic.
When Hiruki was about to approach Koshiro with his hand towards his face, he slightly flinched, wary of what he might do. "Don't worry, I don't bite." He gave a big smile, proud and indicating how Koshiro's reaction became funny for him.
Koshiro blushed, knowing that Hiruki wouldn't do that. He pulled back his face and dug it into Gin from embarrassment.
"Sly devil." Goro clicked his tongue.
"Stop it, you're making Koshiro awkward," Gin warned.
Hiruki laughed faintly, "Yep, yep, of course, haha~" He said in a deep tone, sexy and rare—no one has ever heard his voice this way before, and it's probably because he just wants to annoy.
As the faint traces of dark magic disappeared, Hiruki slowly turned red and sat with his whole face red as a tomato. 'What the hell have I done?!' He panicked inside.
