Ruby Mercer inadvertently withdrew her hand from Lady Moore's grasp. For a moment, she thought her mother had returned. But when this lady held her hand, she was dazed, and for a moment, she felt her mother's presence.
"Mommy! I want that one!" Hannah Mercer pointed at the carousel, her eyes shining like black gems, almost as if they could sparkle like stars.
Richard Moore was nearby, his eyes constantly glancing at Hannah Mercer, occasionally fanning himself and coughing. He saw Hannah curiously observing the surrounding scenery.
He could no longer suppress the excitement and joy in his heart and smiled as he squatted down, reaching out his hands to Hannah.
"Grandpa!" Hannah rushed into Richard Moore's arms. Finally, someone was holding her.
She felt too short, and all she could see were flowers, grass, and people's legs passing by. At her age, it was frustrating, and looking up at things was too tiring.
