Chaos was unleashed on Nereid in an instant. It had been a morning just like any other. The waters were warm and the gentle sunlight filtered down into thin penetrating beams as they cut through the aquatic sky.
The council was deep it yet another debate. Rimu was deep in another bath, while Shiro and Rienne were lounging around together in another part of the Queen's estate. She had come to join Shiro there after Serac departed to recruit the other Oxen for the coming war.
Then came the rumble. Shiro's cat ears flicked just moments before a massive tremor shook the entire western ocean. It was accompanied by a series of roars that could be heard even by settlements up on land along the the coast.
