Chapter 952 - Chapter 951: Homelander: What’s So Impressive About Running Fast?

Soon, the countdown to answer began. For this question, none of the players felt particularly confident, so no one rushed to hit the buzzer. Instead, they all waited until the very last second before making their selections.

This time, the lucky one was Bruce Banner. He scratched his head and said, "Alright… I have a feeling I'm going to get this one wrong. I choose A."

Logically, option A seemed the most likely answer, but emotionally he hesitated. The problem was that all four options were unfamiliar to him, so in the end, he followed logic rather than intuition.

Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff both chose D.

Erik Lehnsherr selected B.

As for Homelander, after hesitating for a moment, he decided to follow Bruce Banner's choice and also picked A.

Soon, the correct answer was revealed:

[Player Bruce Banner answered incorrectly and loses 4 points!]

[Player Tony Stark, Player Natasha Romanoff, and Player Homelander all answered incorrectly and lose 1 point each!]

[Congratulations to Player Erik Lehnsherr for answering correctly and gaining 1 point!]

Bruce Banner sighed. "As expected… my intuition was right."

Tony Stark turned toward Magneto and joked, "Regret not buzzing in on this one?"

Erik Lehnsherr shrugged. "I was just taking a chance. Honestly, I already regretted it the moment the answer left my mouth."

He had simply recalled a future clip revealed in an earlier quiz—where Quicksilver used his super speed to rescue him. That kind of speed, when used to save people, seemed extraordinarily effective.

After the question ended, the screen began playing the footage corresponding to the correct answer.

In the video, when the power core exploded, Alex, Hank, Mystique, and the female agent Moira were the first to be affected. They watched helplessly as flames surged toward them.

At that very moment, a car stopped outside the academy gates. Inside were Cyclops, Phoenix, Nightcrawler, group of students skipping class.

Besides them, a silver-haired young man walked toward the academy gates on foot.

It was Quicksilver, Pietro Maximoff.

He was holding a business card from Charles Xavier's School for the Gifted, clearly having found the place through it. As he looked up at the academy, he saw flames shooting into the sky—and in that instant, the world seemed to freeze.

No—more accurately, time slowed down dramatically, as if the entire world had been switched to slow motion.

Speeding cars gradually came to a halt. The smiles on the faces of the young people in the car froze in place. Even the bees in the grass by the roadside flapped their wings at a pace visible to the naked eye—extremely slowly.

Yet within this slowed world, Quicksilver alone moved normally, as though everything else were frozen while he remained untouched.

Outside the screen, Homelander nearly exclaimed in shock again—but unwilling to let Iron Man mock him, he forcefully held it back, only thinking to himself:

"Mutant powers are even more bizarre than superpowers… What kind of ability is this? Freezing the world?"

Natasha Romanoff was just as confused and asked directly, "Isn't Quicksilver's power just super speed? Why does it look like he's stopping time?"

Tony Stark shrugged and explained, "It's simple. From Quicksilver's perspective, once he activates his power, this is what the world looks like. Doesn't that make super speed even more impressive?"

"Shit!" Homelander finally couldn't hold back anymore.

"You're telling me his power is just like A-Train's—he just runs really fast?

Impossible!

Running fast is nothing special. It's a garbage ability! Tony, you're deliberately misleading us again!"

Tony burst out laughing. "Hahaha! Homelander, you're unbelievable. Ignorance isn't a crime—but showing it off like this is just embarrassing. It's hilarious!"

Erik Lehnsherr glanced at Homelander's darkened expression and calmly explained, "Quicksilver is far faster than the speedster you know. And when speed reaches a certain level, the power it generates is far beyond what you can imagine."

Homelander snorted. "How exaggerated could it possibly be?"

"Fast enough to outrun time and rewrite the future," Tony Stark replied casually.

"If I remember correctly, Barry once came to your world. You've seen him. He managed to outrun time itself and reverse the future."

Homelander froze. It sounded absurd—too exaggerated to believe. He was about to argue back, but when he saw what was happening on the screen, his mouth slowly fell open in disbelief.

Back in the future footage, the moment Quicksilver realized something had gone wrong at the academy, he dropped the business card and the half-eaten piece of bread in his hand and sprinted toward the building.

He was moving so fast that he vanished completely. The discarded bread and business card, however, remained "floating" in midair.

Inside the academy, the X-base lay underground. When the explosion occurred, the academy's main hall bulged upward under the pressure of the blast—like a swelling abscess.

When that "abscess" burst, the raging flames beneath transformed into fire dragons, devouring everything in their path.

Pietro Maximoff was the first to reach the base. He was moving so fast that he even had time to casually admire the exploding flames before beginning the rescue.

He successfully carried Hank, Mystique, and Moira out onto the lawn, then continued rescuing the rest of the students.

Watching Quicksilver calmly and effortlessly save everyone, Natasha, Banner, and Homelander were all left dumbfounded, their eyes wide with shock.

Especially Homelander.

There was a speedster in his own world—A-Train—but to be honest, Homelander had never thought much of him.

In his mind, super speed was insignificant, not even worth mentioning—certainly nothing comparable to his own abilities.

But after seeing Quicksilver, Homelander had to admit something he never wanted to acknowledge:

Perhaps there was no such thing as a useless power—only useless people.

Compared to Quicksilver, A-Train didn't even belong in the same league.

Natasha Romanoff sighed in amazement. "That speed is unbelievable. With power like that, it almost gives the illusion of omnipotence… If he were sent to fight Ultron, wouldn't he be extremely effective?"

"Don't forget," Tony Stark reminded her, "Ultron has the Time Stone. Barry might be able to overcome its effects, but I don't think Quicksilver could."

Bruce Banner pondered for a moment and asked, "Could his speed deal with Apocalypse?"

Erik Lehnsherr shook his head. "I don't think so."
