Chapter 831 - Chapter 830: The Chrysanthemum Bomb

In the Eternal Space, Thor frowned. "The superhumans in your world really are insufferable. So arrogant!"

It wasn't just arrogance—it carried the stink of racial superiority.

Some of the older viewers were reminded of Professor X and his mutants.

But at least with Professor X, his arrogance was built on the pain and persecution mutants had long suffered from regular society. It might've been extreme, but it came from a place people could emotionally understand.

The superheroes from Vought, though? Totally different. They basked in worship and wealth, yet still acted superior. While deceiving the public, they looked down on them at the same time. Disgusting.

Annie felt ashamed of how guys like Translucent, A-Train, The Deep, and Homelander had tarnished the reputation of all superheroes in her world.

She spoke up awkwardly, "Not everyone's like them. I believe there are still good people out there."

"Like you, huh?" Billy Butcher shot her a look full of challenge. "If you ask me, the world would be better off without any superheroes at all."

That comment didn't go over well. Except for Hughie, the rest of the group turned to glare at him.

Thor's frown deepened. "Without superheroes, what happens when your world faces a real crisis? A lot of innocent people would die."

Billy let out a mocking laugh. "Nah. In my world, Vought's superhumans are the crisis."

Stephen rolled his eyes. "Why be so extreme? Isn't there room for balance between having them and not?"

Deadpool burst out laughing. "Dude, you've got zero right to say that. Who's more extreme than you? It's not like Vought's heroes are trying to blow up the whole planet!"

Stephen's face darkened. "Just watch the damn video and stop talking nonsense."

---

In the video, Vought had already dispatched security to look for their missing hero. Meanwhile, Hughie slipped away while the others were working on their next plan to kill a supe. He went to bring water to Translucent, who was still locked up.

Hughie hoped to squeeze more info out of him about A-Train—and maybe even play peacemaker. If he could get Translucent to switch sides, things could end without bloodshed.

Predictably, it didn't go well. Even locked in a cage, naked, and looking like a homeless man, Translucent kept his smug attitude.

"I'm a superhuman. You? Just flesh and blood," he sneered. "Listen, man, you're not the main character of this story. And I'm not gonna stay locked up for long."

At this point, many viewers still found it hard to believe that timid, scared Hughie could be the one to kill Translucent.

But looking back from the result… that arrogance of Translucent's definitely played a part in his death.

Hughie left with a dark face. Outside, only Frenchie was keeping watch—no idea where Billy had gone. Frenchie looked nervous.

Vought security had just shown up, and even though it turned out to be a false alarm, the danger felt very real.

Keeping Translucent locked up was like sitting on a ticking time bomb—sooner or later it was going to blow, and when it did, they'd all go up with it.

Hughie was feeling the pressure too. He had a short conversation with Frenchie.

From their talk, it turned out Frenchie was basically a mercenary who now ran arms deals. Before that, he used to be a hitman—killed people for money, did the dirty work for clients.

He'd killed superheroes before—more than one. Said they were tough, but there were always ways to take them down.

Hughie asked him what killing someone felt like. Maybe Frenchie was high, or maybe he just didn't care, but he shared the story of his first kill. Said it was unforgettable.

Outside the screen, Annie stared daggers at Billy. "You and your buddies—you're all murderers!"

"Yes," Billy Butcher admitted without hesitation. Then he shot back, "But have you ever thought why I kill those so-called superheroes?"

Annie took a deep breath and retorted loudly, "Even if they deserve it, it's the law that should judge them—not you! You don't have the right to play executioner!"

"Naive," Billy muttered, shaking his head. He didn't bother arguing anymore. Instead, he turned to Hughie. "Superhumans are strong, yeah. But they're not invincible. Find the weakness, and they're toast."

Hughie looked dazed. "What I'm worried about now is… how am I going to kill Translucent?"

Billy was disappointed by Hughie's hesitation, but then again, the kid had spent twenty-something years living a boring, cowardly life. You don't just grow a spine overnight. Still, he saw potential.

He sighed. "You'll get your answer soon."

---

Back on screen, Billy, Frenchie, and Hughie were brainstorming ways to deal with Translucent. Billy even considered using a power drill—but that obviously wouldn't pierce the supe's diamond-hard skin.

That's when Frenchie had a sudden flash of inspiration—straight from a science documentary he'd been watching. His face lit up with excitement. "I know how to kill him!"

Without waiting, he ran into the cell and zapped Translucent unconscious.

When Translucent woke up, he saw Frenchie peeling off disposable rubber gloves, while Billy fiddled with some kind of makeshift remote control.

Sensing danger, Translucent growled, "What the hell did you guys do?!"

Frenchie was practically bouncing with energy. "I'm proud to say I've just broken new ground for myself!"

He crouched in front of Translucent, excited like a kid explaining a science project. "The problem's the skin, right? It's like diamond. But then I realized—your insides aren't diamond. Just like us. You're basically a turtle. Hard shell, soft guts."

He went on, grinning. "So the question was: how do I reach the soft bits? The mouth? No good—stomach acid, gag reflex. If I stuff something down your throat, you'll puke it out. So the only way is…"

Translucent's eyes widened in panic. "What the fuck did you do to me?!"

Billy leaned in with a wicked grin. "He shoved plastique up your ass."

"The C-4 bomb," Frenchie added proudly.
