Wow! My family had some history. I decided to dig through the attic. I saw a few postcards, a picture of my family and a few other things.
I angrily kicked a cardboard box and it fell. I saw a big box that happened to be in the cardboard box. It was covered in wrapping paper with my name written on it.
The handwriting was Dad's. It read 'For Arianna. On her eighteenth birthday.' My birthday was on the fourteenth of May, and today was the twelfth of May.
Just two days early. I lifted the box and it was heavy. I hit the box and it sounded metallic. I took it to my Dad and he told me that it was a gift for my birthday and I had to wait.
After I begged him for a while, he agreed to let me have an early birthday which was never done before.
I thanked and hugged him. I tore the paper when I entered my room. It was a platinum box with my name carved in gold on the top. I opened the box and I saw a beautiful dress, a silver watch, and two little boxes.
Come on, more boxes. I hesitated as I opened one. They weren't metallic but beautiful. I saw a pair of flat shoes and a piece of a gem.
The shoes were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Something was wrong with the dress and shoes. I covered the curtains of my room and watched as the clothes lit up the room. It was very beautiful.
I opened the second box and I saw the kind of necklace that my family wore. It had a Silver chain and a pendant. It was a rainbow-colored heart. It was covered in a small cage made out of rhodium. I put it on and felt the power coursing through my veins.
All of these gifts were rare. I neatly put the things back into the box and hid it. I told Mum and she told me about the gifts. "Arianna, these gifts have a meaning. The dress and shoes were given to every first daughter of each family. The silver watch was used to track those who tried to steal the gem."
"It has four hands for the north, south, east and west sides. And the jewelries were gifts from Titania, the fairy queen. We all have that necklace but, the gem was specially designed for you. I hope you like it."
She said as she ended the conversation. "I love it. Thanks Mum."
"It's okay, baby." She smiled at me.
