"Uhm, may I know why my esteemed guests are here?" Pablo Li tried to de-escalate the heated situation between the siblings.
"We are here on an unofficial business, you don't need to inform anyone of our arrival here, governor." Ginge said, still seething from resentment with Wilson.
Wilson is clueless as to why Ginge had animosity towards him but he attributed it to her being a princess. He still is too amazed by Pevia that he didn't have any room to think about anything.
"Yes, unofficial business, don't mind us." egged Wilson.
"Anyway, I'd like to stay here and explore this region if you don't mind, my sister." Wilson said.
"Do whatever you want! I won't be here to babysit you." Ginge mumbled.
"If you want to stay here, let me be your host, prince." Pablo Li encouraged Wilson.
"That would be nice! Please treat me well, I'm new here and I'd like to learn so much!" Wilson was only a few days old in this dimension, he had so much to catch up to if he wanted to learn the ropes of living in the 4th dimension.
"It would be my honor, prince. How about you princess? I can make arrangements for the both of you."
"Humph! I can manage well on my own. You can take care of my brother, no?"
"Alright, I will prepare another place near your brother's should you ever want to stay here in Pevia too. Come with me prince, I will show you to your temporary residence here."
"Very well." Wilson felt that being a prince had a lot of perks.
"You're really just gonna go let me be?" Ginge was absolutely speechless.
"What do you want me to do? You said you can manage well on your own." Wilson was starting to get irritated too.
"Come here for a second."
Wilson and Ginge went to a small corner and talked privately.
"Don't you think you can just get away with this! You stole my brother from me!" Ginge was starting to get teary-eyed.
"Is this what this is all about? I'm sorry the slime transmigrated us here and I was forced to take on your brother's body. I wasn't in control of anything here."
"I - I - I know. Uwaaah! Brother! I'm sorry brother that this filthy human took over you!"
Now it was Wilson who was speechless.
"I promise I will get you back, I will even go back to that wretched woman's domain just to get you back! I will remove this filthy human's soul from your body!"
"Hey, isn't that too much? I have feelings too."
"I don't care about you! If only I didn't read that damned book! I wouldn't have to be transported by the Universal Slime into this distorted reality!"
"Book? What book are you talking about? Do you mean 'Dreams are Real'?"
"No! It was a book called 'A Simple Dream'."
"So you transmigrated too, and ended up in Virgil's Chateau de la Mystique."
"I did. Hu-hu-hu that wretched woman showed me the most terrible nightmare and locked me up in her red room!"
"I guess we're both victims of books then. I don't know if I'm a victim or what yet, to be fair."
"She said that you were chosen, I wasn't. I trespassed and ended up as her toy."
"I'm sorry for whatever happened to you, but don't you think that you're being too hard on me? I was just a victim of circumstance. I had to do what I had to do because I needed to survive."
"You don't know how hard the past 3 years had been for me. Just because I read a children's book! I have the right to be angry. And you even stole my brother!"
"We really can't do anything about it now, can't we? I will make it up to you by being a good brother. Who knows? Maybe you'll even like me more."
"You must be dreaming."
"You told me that this wasn't a dream. I'm not playing, Ginge. Let me make it up to you."
"You have to stop calling me Ginge, we're not that close."
"Aww, lighten up Ginge. Look at the bright side, maybe you have escaped your fate by being transmigrated back to your reality this time."
"Who told you that I needed saving?"
"Well, you did say that you were stuck in the red room."
"I can escape anytime by waking up."
"But this time you were transported by the Universal Slime, that might have changed things, I even transmigrated into your brother's body."
Wilson was unexpectedly sharp this time. Ginge was thinking about it, and she also felt that something different had happened. Her headaches were gone, and she felt lighter as if a burden had been lifted from her shoulders.
"Human, I won't forgive you if you do anything bad to my brother's body."
"Don't worry, I only plan to improve it.
"Human, I will say this just once, this 4th dimension is a dangerous place, and I know all about it. It would be in your best interests to follow me, but if you don't want to, I will not force you. As brothers and sisters, we have to stick together for the time being but don't meddle in my affairs."
"I've been thinking about it, I'd like to just chill and enjoy life in this new reality that I found myself in. this region, Pevia, looks like it's loads of fun!"
"Humph! Do whatever you want. I will be watching you from the sidelines waiting for you to mess up."
"Heh, if I mess up, I'll just have to clean my mess, don't I?" Wilson jokingly said.
"I don't really care what you do, just—"
"What?"
"Nevermind. You be you."
Wilson and Ginge seem to have come to an understanding. They returned to a patiently waiting Pablo.
"My excellencies, I don't mean to impose, but I'd like to know what you have come to terms with." Pablo was earnest, he really valued the help that the Conleys had given which is why he would like to give back however he can.
"We have decided to stay in Pevia for the meantime, I will take care of my own business and you can show my brother around if you'd like, governor."
"It is as she said, nice to meet you, governor Li." Wilson forgot to greet the man.
"I would be glad, I am sure that you will enjoy Pevia as much as we do, prince." Pablo was glad to be of service.
"Tell me about this region, Pablo."
"As you may have figured out, prince, this place is devoted to the cultivation of beauty and self-expression. Pevia is a place where you can learn a lot of things, until recently our specialty is the arts, but we have since then ventured out our scope of exploration to virtually every field you can possibly think of, thanks to the generous support of your Conley Grand Empire. Our magic department is especially growing and we are proud of the progress that native Pevians and outsiders who choose to develop their skills here are showing. If you are interested in cultivation, maybe you'd like to reside here for a few years and be part of our growing community?"
"Magic department? Wow. Seems like I can really explore a lot of things here! Alright, sign me up!"
"I will make arrangements as soon as possible. Would you also like a tour of the city? I can also prepare someone to be your personal guide."
"That would be nice. Thank you, Pablo."
"Alright, I will first take my leave, you can roam around the city and just visit the city hall if you already want to go to your residence. I will have everything prepared by the end of the day. I shall see you around my excellencies."
"Alright, good job, see you around, governor." Wilson was still getting used to the formalities.
"So what shall we do, my dear sister?"
"You! Humph! Let's eat some food."
Wilson and Ginge went and looked for some restaurants in the city with Ginge eventually choosing their destination. She knew her good food, Paramount was one of the best high-end chain restaurants in the 4th dimension. Wilson was in it for the ride.
They ordered a generous serving of roasted crabbit legs, fried sneagle, and the specialty of the restaurant which is sweet and sour rhinophant ears. Wilson couldn't believe that they would be able to eat all of the food served to them, but as he ate, he realized that the appetite of beings here on the 4th dimension is incredibly large! Even Ginge was eating large portions of food. It is also possible that it's because they are beastmen.
After eating, the duo went on to explore the city and look at the various colorful and expressive buildings.
"I really like this place. I thank the Universal Slime for bringing me to such a magical place."
"You haven't really seen anything yet, but it's true that Pevia is one of the rare places of beauty in the 4th dimension."
"I'm so excited to learn about magic and other things! In my world, there's no such thing. I really feel like I'm in a different world now!"
"I'm glad that you like our dimension, human."
Wilson's idyllic life was about to begin.
