According to the post-establishment arrangement, Yang Ping is the president and chief scientist of the Southern Medical Science Academy. Tang Shun serves as the secretary in charge of managing the daily operations of the academy. The laboratories affiliated with the academy do not have hierarchical relationships, as they are parallel independent research units. They are administratively led by the academy but enjoy complete independence and freedom in academic pursuits. This ensures the laboratories connect into a cohesive whole while maintaining their independence, preventing academic rigidity.
