Haruto stood in the school hallway, whistling. He looked at the pointer finger on his left hand as lightning trickled on the tip. "Atake…" Kanami said, walking over to Haruto. Haruto glared at Kanami, "Don't call me that… My name's Touma, not Atake…" Haruto said. Kanami sighed, "Look, I know you've had a rough house life… You have to take care of your little sister by yourself…" Kanami said. Haruto nodded, "The offer to take her into another family in the city is still open…" Kanami said. Haruto scoffed, "She's my little sister, I promised our mother I'd take care of her…" Haruto said. Kanami sighed, "Fine... Go do something, I'll get back to you when I have an assignment…" Kanami said. Haruto nodded, fixing his jacket. He walked down the hall, to the left. A few minutes later, he would be in the basketball gym, shooting hoops. Shiro walked into the gym, "Yo, Haruto… Sensei wanted me to come find you…" Shiro said. Haruto looked over at Shiro, "Hi…" Haruto said. Shiro rose a brow, "What's up..?" Shiro asked. Haruto shook his head "It's nothing…" Haruto said. Throwing a jump shot. The shot would land in the basket, falling through the net. Haruto stretched his arms out, "It's nothing.." Haruto said. Shiro nodded, "Sensei should be here any second now with our new assignment." Shiro said. Haruto nodded, dribbling a basketball, looking at the ground. Shiro grabbed a ball walking toward Haruto. "Hey, Shiro…" Haruto said.
Shiro jumped, shooting the ball toward the hoop. The ball hit the side of the rim falling. "What is it?" Shiro asked. Haruto kept dribbling his ball before he tossed it to Shiro. "Why do we have to protect the weak..?" Haruto asked. Shiro looked surprised, "What do you mean..?" Shiro asked. Haruto shrugged, stretching again. "As strong people… Why do we have to protect the weak..?" Haruto asked. Shiro sighed, shooting the ball up toward the hoop. "It's like a tribe…" Shiro said. Haruto raised a brow, "The men would go out to hunt while the women took care of the children and made the food." Shiro said. Haruto had a confused look on his face. "Instead of men and woman, it's the strong and the weak," Shiro said. Haruto groaned, "I didn't want one of your monologues…" Haruto said. Shiro chuckled, "I mean, you asked…" Shiro said. Haruto shrugged, "I guess I did…" Haruto said. Shiro sighed, "But truly, it's a responsibility we have." Shiro said. The door slid open. "Touma, Hanami… I have your mission." Kanami said. Haruto rose a brow, "And Asuka?" Shiro asked. Kanami shook his head, "They only requested you two." Kanami said. Haruto sighed, putting his jacket back on. "Where?" Haruto asked. Shiro put his uniform back on. "The Capitol." Kanami said. Haruto and Shiro each raised a brow. "The Capitol?" They asked in unison.
A few seconds later, Haruto and Shiro stood in the 13th district president's office. The president, his wife and his two daughters stood there with luggage. Haruto looked highly confused and had a disgusted look on his face. "Hello Mr. President." Shiro said, bowing. Haruto stood there in bewilderment. Shiro hit him in the abdomen, and Haruto bowed. "Thank you, President-San!" Haruto shouted. Shiro smiled awkwardly, "S-Sorry Mr. President…" Shiro chuckled. The president chuckled, "It's quite alright." He smiled. Haruto and Shiro stood back up straight. "How can we help you Mr. President?" Shiro asked. President Hatzi smiled, "My family and I are taking a few days vacation…" President Hatzi said. Shiro nodded, "And we thought you could be the bodyguards for our two daughters?" The President asked. Shiro smiled as Haruto hit him lightly on the back. "May Haruto and I speak in private for a few seconds..?" Shiro asked. The President nodded, "Of course, but we obviously have. a plane to catch." President Hatzi said.
Haruto and Shiro then slipped out of the room. "What??" Shiro asked Haruto. Haruto sighed, "Are you seriously thinking about taking this job, Shiro??" Haruto whispered. Shiro chuckled, "Are you against it??" Shiro asked. Haruto nodded, with his eyes wide. "Why do you want to protect two brats??" Haruto asked. Shiro gave Haruto a 'are you serious' kind of look. "It's the president's kids… If we do good, we'll probably get some kind of reward, even spots on the black angels." Shiro said. Haruto scoffed, "What happened to us being the strongest on our own?" Haruto asked. Shiro looked at Haruto's eyes. That he was genuinely frustrated. That he didn't want his friend to take a short way out on him. Shri sighed, putting his hand on Haruto's shoulder. "Look… It'll just be this one job, after this we'll graduate like normal adults and earn our way to the top." Shiro said. Haruto grinned, "That's more like it!" Haruto said. Shrio grinned, "Why would you ever doubt me? We're best friends!" Shiro said. Haruto and Shiro walked back into the office, "Alright, so where are we going?" Shiro asked. The President smiled, "We'll be taking a short trip the 10th District." The President Said.
