But Sophie wasn't sad.
Even when friends first meet, it always starts with exchanging names, so there's nothing to be sad about. She didn't know Mr. Shaw before.
Sophie said cheerfully, "My name is Sophie Allen."
"Sophie Allen?" Godfery Shaw murmured the name silently.
"Because my mom's name is Nancy Allen, so I'm called Sophie Allen!" Sophie explained enthusiastically, "Grandpa says I'm my mom's hope; if I grow up well, mom can be at peace."
For the past five years, Godfery Shaw never dared to find out anything about her.
Now, hearing Sophie mention her, he couldn't help but ask, "Is she called Nancy Allen now?"
Sophie nodded, "Mom was always named Nancy Allen. Mrs. Lewis says mom actually didn't like the name Amelia Wright, and to completely sever ties with the past, mom went back to Nancy Allen."
Turns out she's called Nancy Allen now.
Indeed, severed ties with the past.
Then what about him? Did he belong to her past too?
