This sounded a bit long-winded, but upon closer listen, it was clear that Shay Windsor feared Oliver Bloom may misunderstand, so he emphasized that he and Elise Don had never been in contact.
But this was too deliberate, almost saying outright that Oliver Bloom was narrow-minded.
