Erend extinguished the fire instantly. The flames folding in on themselves as if retreating from an invisible grip.
His expression didn't waver at all because this much was nothing for him now.
With the heat fading into silence he stepped toward the pod that had caused the eruption and scanning for the source.
Inside the pod there was a woman with short hair and an average build lay still in sedation, her face relaxed as though in a dreamless sleep. She had no idea of the chaos she'd unleashed.
Erend studied her for a moment, then turned to the staff that had retreated pretty far.
"Record this one and mark this candidate for observation," he ordered.
"Yes, sir," came the quick reply, and several staff members began entering notes into their tablets.
Instead of returning to the platform, Erend remained in the pod chamber. His instincts told him this wasn't over. In the stages like this it was notorious for instability.
