I was honestly expecting a carriage or something to show up on the day of the ceremony.
But well… I was definitely not prepared to see a palanquin show up in front of the inn complete with a guard escort.
I blinked at the Inugami attendant who was there to receive me and I pointed at the thing, "You… Are going to carry me to the palace in that?"
"Yes, my lady. Might there be a problem?"
"Well… I guess I should just say that… I'm not that light? So are you sure about this I can walk there myself you know? I don't really need that."
The attendant seemed troubled, "Ah… Umm… It would trouble us if you don't use it, my lady. This is part of the ceremony. And I assure you that we will be able to carry you there."
Really?
I honestly thought that since Masuyama was in charge, he'd also try and modernise the transport system or something but apparently not? Unless this has some kind of cultural or historical significance about it then I would understand why they're using this…
