'It's about time we finish this mission.' I said and flew toward the central battlefield as I observed the act Earl Coslen was putting up as if he was seriously fighting but he was saving quite a lot of his strength for god knows why.
From afar I could see that the central battlefield was nothing unlike it was before, there was barely anything left of it.
The ground has almost disappeared and was replaced with Lava Rivers and black icicle slabs, where earl simon and his son stood while his general stayed in the far back missing one hand and having claw marks everywhere on his demon body.
The area around 3 kilometers of earl simon and Coslen has turned into literal hell as it was evident that multiple rank 8 and above spell has been used here.
"I thought you would have finished things here by now." I spoke in a casual tone holding chained blades in both hands arriving beside earl simon.
"Have you… huff… dealt with others?" Earl simon asked huffing while earl Coslen examined me in his hybrid jaguar form.
"I have." I said not waiting and throwing ether blades toward earl Coslen who effortlessly dodged my attack and fired black fireballs in my direction which had a burning and corrosive effect enough to melt even boulders.
"I expect nothing less from a person sent by genesis, I will need your help to deal with this cockroach, i just hope you are not too tired." Earl Simon said, manifesting a black ice wall in front of him which canceled out the fiery projectiles fired at us by earl Coslen.
"Worry about yourself." I said charging toward earl Coslen as my ether blades easily cut through his long ranged spells.
At earl simon's command his son Samuel also retreated providing support to injured Gabriel as me and earl simon resumed our second round of fighting.
"So my general and son didn't survive ha…." Earl Coslen said with a stoic face but mana around him was telling a different tale.
As if losing all restraints earl Coslen released a devastating fiery wave from his body incinerating everything around us, earl simon protected us both by creating an ice wall in front of us which soon started to melt revealing a maddened black beast running toward us leaving black smoke behind him.
"I will kill you bastards." He shouted as multiple fireballs and lances were created around him the next second which he fired at us and was met with lightning and ice barrage of our own.
He himself was hit with multiple long ranged projectile of ours which outnumbered his but ignoring the pain he appeared few feet away from me, I had prepared ether blades to thrust in his body but my blade passed through his body as if he was a shadow and I felt a sharp pain course through my body.
Ahhhaaaa!
I released a less painful and more frustrated roar as a sharp claw penetrated my back from behind.
I activated [Dragon gaze] and saw Earl Coslen hiding in his black flames ready to attack me once again but his claws were met with ether blades and a series of ice spikes manifested below his feets.
"How low have you fallen earl simon, you are asking help from an incomplete radiant physique mortal, that too a human, forget about alliance, I will kill you here and wipe out this disgrace from the history of demon race." Earl Coslen declared before disappearing in black flames once again.
The ice barrier surrounding earl simon suddenly lit up with black flames and the fire proved to be superior to ice as he was trapped in the prison of fire with no way out.
'Interesting, an inferior version of domain ability which is impossible to achieve if one hasn't attained mythril physique, it seems the world has progressed quite a lot during my 100 year long slumber.' I heard Merlin's voice and my eyes widened in shock and delight.
[Lightning step]
My perception shifted ten folds and I threw both the blades toward earl coslen's location to bind him but the moment blades touched his body, he moved his limbs in an impossible manner and distanced himself from me.
"You are quite fast, a lightning ability user and that too with such destructive power even without transforming into your beast form, are you looking down on me or are you exhausted from fighting my son?" Earl Coslen asked avoiding the icicles Earl simon had fired from within the fire cage.
I covered my skin with a thick layer of mana but even then my skin was tingling due to the high temperature of those black flames, wherever they touched the ground would get scorched and even after everything had burned the fire didn't extinguish.
"I don't think I will need to use my transformation to kill you." I said manifesting 4 [Lightning wings] behind my back and taking flight.
The inferior domain ability Earl Coslen has manifested was taking a huge toll on his body that much was clear, he was trying to separate both of us and deal with us separately and thus buying some time while preparing a decisive counter strike was the best option present to me.
[Infinite blades]
I fired countless lightning blades at earl Coslen and the cage binding earl simon to free him but they were met with earl coslen's fiery shield melting in the air before even reaching him, few lightning blades were able to penetrate his defenses but the moment they inflicted damage on his body, his wounds would heal without leaving even a scratch.
'Fighting an immortal physique expert is quite bothersome if you are not above or on the same level as him.' I clicked my tongue and attacked earl Coslen once again with multiple lightning bolts imbued with fate points and sword strikes.
By now he had learned that golden lightning strikes hindered his regeneration thus he avoided them hiding and merging with black flames in our surroundings.
Earl Coslen was about to charge at me himself, but both our attention shifted toward the fiery prison where a considerable amount of mana was accumulating and the next second a huge blast occurred sending everything around us flying and the battlefield which was covered in black flames now completely dyed white.
The fiery prison was destroyed and from inside it, a 20 feet tall white furred bear stepped out, his body covered in red runes with blood red eyes.
'Seems exhausted, I think it is his second time using his beast transformation.' Merlin examined the transformed earl simon.
'I think it would be better if your general joins the fight and supports us.' I said looking at the ethereal physique expert treating the wounds of the young master while observing our battle.
It seemed earl simon agreed to my telepathic message because next second he stood up and arrived a few meters away from me, fencing earl Coslen in triangular formation.
'Buy me a few seconds.' I said to earl simon and floated in the air.
Earl simon as well as earl Coslen understood my intention as one charged at me to attack while the other held him back supported by a green Mentis like beast who was Gabriel, general of earl simon missing one of his hands.
'Opportunity like this won't come again, I will end this now.'
[Draconic transformation]
I muttered and the whole battlefield was once again dyed black, lightning raged high in the clouds and fell on the body of soldiers of both forces in the distance and near me.
[Lightning Domain]
I had been casting my own domain spell since a long time and created a lightning domain 100 meter long and wide trapping all four of us inside and soon a complicated expression appeared on earl simon's face seeing me in my draconic physique while earl Coslen staggered a few steps back in disbelief.
Both of them weren't delighted to see my draconic transformation because in the current era, it was forbidden for humans to merge with the core of the dragon because it was possible for such humans to pose a serious threat to the demon King in the future if allowed to grow.
Finding a dragon core nowadays was like finding a needle in the sea because there hasn't been a sighting of dragons on planet Amora in the past 1,000 years let alone hunting one, while whenever a dragon core or a person with such core appeared, he was hunted by the demon king's forces to the end of the world.
They knew that even Genesis won't hide such a person among their ranks risking, attracting the wrath of the demon King in future.
Seeing a human in front of them having merged with a unique lightning dragon core, both earls had come to the same conclusion without any discussion.
