Chapter 6 - Through the veil of the mist

They followed Professor Elara Morn through the fog toward the gates of Obscura Academy. The mist clung to their clothes, thick and alive, as if trying to hold them back from what waited ahead. At first, it was only the faint silhouette of towers, tall and still against the pale sky. Then the mist drifted aside, and the castle emerged, not built, but emerged from magic. Its stone shimmered faintly like water under moonlight, as if it had absorbed light from forgotten stars. As they approached, a soft murmur of ancient echoes resonated through the air, interwoven with the distant whisper of the wind.

The smell of aged parchment and earthy moss greeted their senses, adding an air of mystery to their surroundings. Every tower was carved with symbols too intricate to belong to any mortal hand. The walls didn't just stand; they breathed, whispering stories of centuries that refused to fade.It is impossible not to stare. This is ancient but timeless. The ivy that crawled along its pillars seemed to glitter faintly, and every archway felt like a portal to something otherworldly. It carried a beauty that hurt to look at, the kind that made your heart ache because you knew nothing would ever compare again. The gates were wrought from dark metal, engraved with constellations that pulsed softly, like a heartbeat. Above them, a crest shimmered in shifting silver light, a circle divided into seven fragments.

Annaya has never gone far away from her orphanage city. But she likes to read, and in these modern times, everyone knows common things like the 7 Wonders of the world. and question why this is not included in those wonders of the world. And how in the world did she get lucky to get here? But if she is good with anything that is gasping and accepting the present, even if it's her first time for her to see something this majestic, but all others can't even able to hide their reaction. And between their thoughts and wonder, they entered after the professor. Someone was waiting for them. They didn't notice until the professor introduced them, " students! Meet Lucien Nior. He was an alumnus of our academy and is now working as a guide for newcomers. I will leave you in his good hands. Meet you at your first class." He got white-gold hair slightly tousled, falling just above his shoulders. His eyes are a vivid lavender that seem to glow when he smiles, and he seems to smile often. Though he wore the academy's colours, black and silver something about him felt unbound by rules. The cloak at his shoulders was longer than regulation, lined with faintly glowing threads that pulsed like starlight. He looked less like a guide and more like someone who could rewrite the map of this place if he wished.
