Michael didn't wait any second. He rushed toward Rachel and hugged her. "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was him. I thought it was Xavier."
She looked up and said, "No, he did it to separate me from Xavier."
Her words threw everyone in shock. Michael's hand dropped, "Why?"
Rachel felt bad, she just wanted to explain the whole conflict that made their whole family suffer. But she guessed it could create more conflict if she didn't explain further, "As you know, my dad and Lucias were best friends. Eventually Xavier and I became close and we dated." She paused, taking a breath and continued, "But when he betrayed my dad, I didn't know I was already pregnant." She looked up, afraid that Michael would be too shocked.
"And?" Michael tried to stay calm.
"And when he knew about that, he pretended he was okay and would accept me as a daughter in law." She recalled how happy she and Xavier were at that time. "But he asked us to hold off the marriage until I gave birth."
