Mabel Doyle exerted a slight force with her hand to pull open the door, her heart feeling incredibly heavy. She bit her lip and took a step forward.
At the same time, steady footsteps sounded from behind her. She instinctively turned her head, and in a flash, a tall man's figure was already standing before her.
"Bry..." she gasped, just about to speak, when the man grabbed her wrist and pulled her over, simultaneously closing the door forcefully.
"Ah—" Mabel exclaimed, her body immediately pressed against the door.
The man clasped her waist with one hand, propping himself against the door with the other, trapping her between the door and his body. His firm, strong chest pressed tightly against her, leaving no room for her to struggle.
