Ose Owen set down his phone, tucked her in, then lay down himself.
He gently soothed her, worried the child was afraid of the dark, so he left the light on. His dark eyes fixed on her small face — fair and beautiful, with long eyelashes, a petite nose, and a flawless little mouth.
"Goodnight, sweetheart." He kissed the child's forehead and then lay down and closed his eyes...
The next morning, when Ose Owen opened his eyes, he saw the little girl was already awake. She was sitting and watching him, her small hand gripping his collar, her big watery eyes blinking repeatedly.
He glanced at the time, it was only six o'clock. He couldn't help but chuckle, "Raleigh, up so early?"
The little girl didn't speak, her lips pouted, looking upset, and after a while, she spoke, "Uncle, I want mommy, I want mommy..."
After saying it a few times, her eyes turned red, and the sight of her sniffing and looking aggrieved made his heart ache.
