Chapter 29 - Tactician

Mediocris City, Magicae Land of Fairies and Humans

Deep in the royal castle, there's a medically altered bedroom, and Hasan slept peacefully on the bed.

Grayson sat in a chair close to him, with his hand on top of Hasan's hand. Grayson sighed, "Please, you should be up now," he whispered wearily.

"You shouldn't worry so much," someone says from a distance.

Grayson lightly jumps up and looks towards the door. There stood Eris, dressed in dark blue leather and he closes the door gently before walking closer to Hasan and Grayson.

"It's been three days!" Grayson exclaimed, "Ash brought us here the night of the tenth. So why the hell isn't he up?" Grayson asks full of frustration.

"Hmm," Eris thinks to himself, rubbing his chin and ignoring Grayson's question.

"How much do you know about us? Tell me everything Ash told you," Eris assertedly demands, kindly.

Grayson scoffs, "I don't see how that matters right now," Grayson huffed. "But," Grayson started before raising his hand from Hasan's and focusing his attention to Eris,

"to my knowledge, the Deusrian Gods as we know it are also known as the Unruly Seven Embodiments. They're a part of a family of cosmic entities, and you guys were kinda shunned by them for hosting your... sprits? Inside of gi-

"Ah! Okay, stop," Eris blurts out laughing.

Grayson's scrunches his face and chuckles nervously as he watches Eris laugh uncontrollably. "Uh, what are we laughing for?" he asks.

Eris begins to walk towards the door, still laughing, "I just didn't expect Ash to tell you that much. Anyway, it seems the rest of the Knights of Astellan tagged along with Queen Sylvie for our meeting today. Be ready to appear in our meeting, Prince Grayson," he kindly says before exiting the room

Eris closes the door behind him and leans out. He closes his eyes, sighing.

"Father, how is life?"

Eris jumps and gasps, startled and he opens his eyes to see Riune standing in front of him.

"D-don't," Eris walks closer, turning his head to look and see anyone else is in the corridor, "don't call me that here. It's King Eris, and," Eris scoffs, "aren't you supposed to be training with the DR squad?" he asks.

Riune gives a nervous chuckle with a mischievous light smile. "It's just your council members and Quwe. Quwe... is a beast. Too much magic to back up her fierce personality, but I bet my other half would love her," Riune yapped, and Eris nods his hand quick in confusion.

"Wait, what's happened to Mikalae and Jivan?" He asks.

"Oh, the mind fairy said something about Mikalae being in some kinda pain. Now that I think about it it's probably-"

"Enough," Eris says deeply and seriously, and he closes in on Riune, "I'll handle this," he declared firmly and disappeared in a white flash.

Slowly, Riune's mischievous smile rises and he chuckles.

"So kind and funny, yet so serious... hmm," he smiles.

In blink of an eye, Eris jumps down in Mikalae's bedroom in the tower. He appears and see Mikalae laying on the bed, sick. He muttered words and twisted lightly shifted his head around in pain, soaked in sweat.

Jivan sits in chair close to Mikalae, beside the bed.

"Jivan," Eris speak firmly and loudly and Jivan turns around in his chair, looking at Eris before standing up.

"Your Majesty, he... everything happened to quick," Jivan says, faltering, "we were just spending time together after the attack and while we were eating, he just... blacked out," Jivan says saddened, trying to keep together.

Eris blinks concernedly and gulps before taking steps closer. He reaches the bed and look down on Mikalae, "Those words... High Primisi..." He whispers.

"Oh!" Jivan speaks out from behind, "That's why I couldn't understand everything," he realizes and Eris turns around, facing him. He inhales and exhales deeply.

"Jivan, do you love Mikalae?" he asks.

Jivan blinks and scoffs, "Is he okay? What's wrong w-"

"Answer the question," Eris cut him off, and states it firmly.

Jivan breathes in calmy,

"I think-- no... I know he's the love of my life," Jivan responds sincerely and Eris lightly smiles.

"Then I need a favor from you. Go in his mind and tell him that... tell him you love him till death tear us apart. Just like that,"

Jivan nods lightly, "No problem, you're majesty. However... if I may, can I have a favor from you?" He asks

Eris lightly bobs his head thinking, "Well, I suppose so," he says

Jivan looks up at him lightly squinting his eyes, "What's Mikah's connection to the Book of Akimus?"

Eris's face scrunches shocked and confusedly, as he is astonished by the question.

"My King?" A voice calls out. Jivan and Eris then shifts their attention towards the door where they see Jesse peeking through,

"All of the Igetes and Grayson are waiting for you in the war room," Jesse informs him. Eris nods and then follows Jesse out of the room.

Jesse opens a door for Eris and Eris walks in while Jesse follows behind him.

"Hello everyone. Apologies for being late," Eris says, before sitting down at the head of the table. All ten Igetes (crown rulers or the royals who inherited the crown of the Great Realms) gathered at the table. While Jesse stood beside Eris and Grayson stood beside Queen Sylvie

"I thank you all for coming during such dire times. I take it my advisor Jesse has already reviewed your military logistics and information, so I'd rather we'd jump right into the business," Eris asserted.

"Prince Grayson Zaharia, on direct orders from Queen Sylvie, he infiltrated the Koroshi and gathered important intel. Grayson," Eris turns to him, "tell us everything," he says calmly

"Well," Grayson chuckles nervously, "Good news and bad news. I know every location they will strike. From the sea between Arishiema and North Trionaila, to Pervolsima," Grayson reveals.

"I suppose that's good news," Corlun, the Sprite Queen of Esperia, chimed in. "What the hell is the bad?" Terraum questioned. Grayson grunts softly, he looks down and whispers, "20 million,"

"What?" Eris asks, scrunching his face. "20 million... they have 20 million wyverns," Grayson falters. "WHAT?!" Terraum exclaimed.

"Even with Magicae behind us... we'll be destroyed," King Pons enunciated.

"That's actually untrue," says Corlun. "Wyverns are like distant cousins of dragons, and far inferior than them as well. We all should be lucky that we'll be facing 20 million wyverns and not 20 million dragons," She explained.

"Corlun is right," Sylvie chimed in, "What we should focus on are those battle locations. Grayson," she raised her eyebrow at him.

"Right. Can anyone make a world map," He asks. "Allow me," Jesse spoke. He stepped up and raised both of his arms, reaching out.

A pink globe of Magia Terra appeared in the middle of the table, it then slams down on the large table and formed a flat world map.

It showed Arishiema to the east with it's northern islands in the Eozian Sea, and north of the Eozian Sea is the wide forestlands of North Trionalia. The vast Siurean Ocean laid west of Arisheima, which lead to the vast lands of Pervolsima. It also showed the Southern Ocean, which lead to the unknown and isloated continent, South Trionalia.

"They plan on having at least four battlefields," Grayson began, he walked over and pointing his fingers down on the map, at Eastern Pervolsima. "In Pervolsima, they'll move further west to conquer the rest of the kingdoms pass the desert called the Ghost Winged Waste," Grayson then walks over, shifting his finger to the Isles in the Eozian Sea. "From west to east, they intend to conquer all of Arishiema's Island Realms, but of course, I believe their true goal is Astellan. Then here," Grayson shifts his hand again,

He points to the center east coast of the mainland of Arisheima, which is the kingdom Magicae. "They'll attack exactly where I'm standing. Then!" He slides his hand over, it seems for the final time. He points to the most north western part of Magicae. "I read that they'll attack a place called... Arden," he concludes

"Arden!" Eris exclaimed shockingly. "Makes sense... Arden has one of the strongest Milita. The city has stood as an outpost and battle city for centuries, with the support of it's surrounding cities as well, and there is a road that leads straight to here so they can join the battle of Mediocris. But they have another motive..." he says,

Terraum scrunches his face in wonder and suspicion.

"The Dragon King... Arcadius intends to kill the fire arch dragon Ignyarae. She lays in a hidden village, not far from Arden," Eris reveals. He then widens his eyes and stands abruply. "We can strike first with a sky force," he says sternly.

"They'll have both a naval and sky force, and we will too. Our naval force will hide a little north, and strike after our sky force take out theirs, so our navy won't have to worry about aerial attacks. The fight will continue on land, but with our interception, it'll stay in Arden and won't reach the Fire Arch-Dragon," He explains.

"For Pervolsima," Eris walks over Pervolsima on the map,

"We will station forces in the Ghost Winged Waste to intercept their march. If they reach pass the desert, they'll approach the three Great Realms of Pervolsima. And if those kingdoms fall, the whole continent will. We can suspect that there will be many enemy soldiers on that battlefield," he quickly walks over again

"Now for the islands, our best chances are to focus on having a naval battle. To avoid harm to the isles and cities, and all the people in it. I hate to say this but, if we evacuate the isles of Idhun and Zaharia, and the Koroshi aren't met with resistance or a fight, they won't attack no island until they reach Astellan. And there, they'll be met with a powerful naval force,"

"For Mediocris, we don't have to worry. They'll attack from the west, since the mountains north are way to high to past, and the sea to the east protects us with the thorned rocks from any naval attack. Not only that, but our royal soldiers our powerful, we also are home to two Aristocrat clans, Mediocris and the Kinzoku,"

"So, does this sound good," Eris asks, concluding his rant of strategizing.

"I'm.." Terraum began,

"Unbelievable," Queen Dynes spoke

"How quick and thorough," King Jado says

Eris scrunches his face in confusion.

"You've impressed them, Eris," says Sylvie. "They've never seen a tactician strategize," she says.

"Yeah, it's good and all," Vinma says with slight content, "but what about headquarters? Where will we be during the war?" He asks. "Ah," Eris smiles lightly, "Headquarters will be the Fairy Sanctuary," he answers.

Jesse's eyes widen. "B-but your majesty! No non Magicaean has entered the temple," He shouts. "Yes, and until eight years ago, no human entered the temple. This is war, Jesse. The sanctuary is the best place to set up headquarters," he explains.

"Now," Eris says, shifting his focus back to the other leaders. "Before we end this, I want to say not to worry about Arcadius. Prince Mikalae and five other powerful people are going to enter the Dark Realm to try and take him out. Their chances aren't even 80% so his death isn't guaranteed, we must stay cautious," he whispers. "Grayson," he says, getting Grayson's attention, "Tell me you know when this will happen," Eris pleads.

Grayson inhales. "We have three days, war breaks out on the sixteenth of Dark Month," He says.

Eris then furrows his eyebrows. "Well then, Jesse," Eris says sternly and Jesse begins to walk around the table, handing phones over to the Igetes. "When you see my name pop up, press the green button so we can talk. Ready your armies to depart on the 15th, we will be extra prepared," Eris announces, concluding the meeting.

In a bedroom, Hasan lied on the bed. He then inhales deeply and his eyes shoot open. Both of his eyes glow beautifully gold. He slowly sits up and pats his face.

"When you get a chance," someone whispers.

Hasan immediately shifts his head towards the voice and he faces a young brown boy in modern Earth clothing.

"Find me," the boy says in a singsong tone and fades away quickly.

"Chance?" Hasan questions. He then yells, "Chance!"

The door then bursts open and Grayson rushes in. "Hasan, are you okay? I came as soon as I heard yelling," he says, sitting beside him on the bed. "I... I was Nasara or... was it Nasahion?" Hasan questions himself. "I was both! I've lived many lives, took many forms, because... I am Life," he realizes.

"That's also why I cannot let myself love you, Grayson," He says.

Grayson scrunches his face in confusion and blurts out, "What?"

"My world is so different from yours, and dangerous. Only death and melancholy would await you with me. Not only that, I have four-

"Kids?" Grayson cuts him off, smirking. "Ash told me everything about you. How you're the father of him and Eozia, how you love to travel and experience everything this universe have to offer. Everything he said just made me love you more," Grayson places his hand on Hasan's. "Your world is my world," Grayson whispers sweetly

Hasan smiles. He then lifts his hand and shining green dust rises from it. "There, the chain of effect is gone, may the pain cease for the others," he mutters,

Step

Step

Step

Jivan is inside Mikah's mind. He walks around, stepping in water. Around him is darkness, complete darkness. He sees no ceilings, no walls, no one, nothing but darkness.

Whoosh

Jivan turns around and faces a door, connected to nothing. He steps closer and opens the door, crossing the threshold.

He enters a large, dark room and there someone laid on the bed. The person laying on the bed shifts their head towards Jivan. It's an old man.

"A-a" the old man croaked and stuttered.

"Akimus? Is that you?" The old man asks.

"You!" Someone shouted from behind. Jivan turns around and sees a woman in armor with a sword. "You aren't our lord!" The woman yells before moving her sword to strike down Jivan. Jivan then closes his eyes and yells out.

He reopens them and looks around, he's back in Mikah's bedroom. He looks down at Mikalae and sees him wide awake, laying down. "You're up!" He exclaimed cheerfully.

"I'm so glad I don't have to do that a third time," he says in relief. Mikalae turns his head away. "Jivan... can we postpone the excursion by a day?" He asks slowly. Jivan smiles lightly and nods. "You get some more rest, I'll tell the squad," Jivan says before getting up and leaving the room.

Mikalae shifts his heads and looks at the ceiling, sighing. He closes his eyes and, in a flash, he sees the old man in the dark bedroom.

He opens his eyes and quickly sits up. He blinks with worry before he shifts his attention towards his spear on the other side of the room.

Mikalae whispers

"Ebisu.."
