After Brad spooked Viz with Stone the Rex, We all went back to the fire so settle down. I took a look at Viz's job request to see where the location. I saw that the location of the Giga was across the Island near the blue obelisk. I knew that would be a trip so I told everyone by the fire. "You guys will rest here tonight then we'll go and take care of this job. You'll need all you're rest for the day you have ahead of you." Everyone looked at Viz and he agreed with the offer. Then as we all sat by the fire I saw that Viz had a question for me. I looked at him and at his crew, which they all had a question for me.
Viz then after a moment of hesitating asked me. "How did you come across that Wyvern, she seems a bit attached to you than the others?" Viz then took a sip of his tea I gave him and everyone. I took my own sip as I looked back at Blizzard. "Ah, you want to know how I came to possess her?" I asked and Viz nodded wanting me to tell him a simple story. "Well, I was on a Taming run to start my own camp not for from here. My own crew of three people came across this pure white stone. We found out very quick that it was none other than a young Wyvern trapped by a large stone that was stuck on her wing. Since it was young, the beast couldn't move from the large stone."
"I saw it was excited but tired from trying to get out. I looked over to my Friend and my brother, we knew we had to help it out. So we got close to the rock to see what we could do to get it free. I saw it was cracked and then I heard a crack behind us. I saw what was a bunch of micro raptors looking right at the Wyvern. I looked at my crew and we were only three against seven not including the Wyvern. I saw the Wyvern was going to be the target so I stood infront of it. The Wyvern was going to bite me but saw why I was infront of it. I drew my gun and knife getting ready for the attack. As they closed in I heard the shot from my brother's gun. I turned to it smoking with a hole into a raptor."
I took a pause to take a sip of water as I continued my story. "I then watched as these little bastards all came at us with a fury I have never seen in something that small. I spun around with one cutting it half with my sword as I shot another five feet from my legs. Then I watched as my friend took out two of his own then we just had two more. I could tell they noticed they were on their own so they took off. We turned to the wyvern who was now looking right at us. Not with angry eyes but with relieved expression on its face. I then noticed that this Wyvern was a female and wasn't all white like when we first saw when she was currled up."
"I got her free after an hour of chipping around her wing. As the sun came down we all made a fire and a quick camp around the Wyvern. I had some quick healing meds with me and I took them out to heal the Wyvern. At first she didn't want me to touch her wing till I laid my hand on her face. She was cold but it wasn't anything I was worried about. I looked into one of her red colored eyes and saw how sad she was. I then told her, "Don't worry little one, I won't hurt you, I want to help you." Then I put a soothing ointment on her wing without making her freak out. Then we all sat near the fire till I knew we were safe to sleep for a bit."
"I felt something touch me in the morning, I woke up a bit to that white wyvern curled up next to me. I thought it was cute but I saw she was still hurt, but better than before. That's when I made a decision to some how bring her with me. We got our green friend and carried her all the way to our camp." I stopped for a moment to look at Blizzard who was staring right at me. "She's family and I'd protect her from even the biggest creautres on this island." I added and everyone saw how much I loved and respected the Wyverns. I looked over to Viz and he had a smile on his face. "If you show them that you respect them, they will show the same. Humans though don't give them the chance."
I said to him and he felt bad for a moment, I was about to get up when I heard Pocket say. "Sometimes we can't afford to give them a chance, we are few and they are many." I scuffed, "You then won't survive long on this island if you can't make a few friends." I then stepped away for my hut as Brad showed everyone to their cabins. I patted Blizzard before I went inside then I fell alseep in my hammock looking out towards her. She watched me a bit then we both passed out to the sound of the crickets and the ocean waves. Viz had everyone get to bed right after I fell asleep and waited till he knew everyone was actually out.
The next morning came and I was getting dressed when I heard the Cabin door open. I looked out to see that Viz was up and going to the stables with his Wyverns. I put on my morning coat and I caught up with him. He was patting the fire wyverns when I walked up to him. "They like when you scratch their chins." I said spooking him a bit as he spun around to greet me. "I can see that, they're alot like dogs in a way arent they?" He asked me and I agreed. "For the most part but some are a bit more complicated like the ice wyverns." I said and Viz wanted more information on that. I looked over to see Blizzard was waking up, "Come watch this." I said to him as I pulled up the box of kibble from yesterday on the trough.
"Blizzard can you come here my friend?" I asked my Wyvern and she didn't even hesitate as she rushed over. She looked right at me as I told her, "Viz here thinks most wyverns are like dogs, what do you think?" Blizzard quickly looked Viz and blew a gentle shot ice into his hair. Viz felt his hair and he started laughing, "I get it you're smarter than we give you credit for." Blizzard then made a gesture for her food, "Yes you can eat you breakfest." I said to her and she turned to eat her food as I took Viz over the storage area. We then gathered everything they would need to take on a Giga. Then around late morning everyone woke up and was ready to leave for our or their mission.
Everyone was hesitant when it came to the flying part, but I just smiled. "You only need to hand on as they will follow Blizzard for the begining." I said to everyone as they all climbed on one of the four wyverns. The Twins road on the same one since they were the lightest. I had Viz pay close attention as I got the attention of Blizzard. "Girl can you have them follow us, these newbies havent rode wyverns yet?" I asked her and she made a couple chirps to get the young wyverns to follow her. Then after I said goodbye to my brother and my workers we all headed north with a crack of my reigns. Blizzard took off quick with the other closley being her.
We flew high above the clouds for a moment to get them use to the feeling. I let go of the reigns then I turned around to look at Viz who was flying right next to me. He looked scared with being this high up and was evern more concern that I was so at ease on the back of Blizzard. I laughed a bit then told him, "Remember these wyverns are smarter the more they age. They also respond to your emotions too, so ease the breath and relax." Blizzard jerked a bit and I slid a tiny bit. Everyone freaked out as I felt her look back at me. "You think you're funny don't you?" I said patted her side as I turned around to see that we were getting close to our destination.
As we landed on a mostly stone platue looking over the land. I could see something big like I suspected was leaving very visible marks on the ground. I saw nothing but tracks going to one spot, "Ah she might be heading that way." I said kneeling over the edge of the cliff, Viz came to see what I was looking at. "How do you know that thing is a female?" He asked me and I said, "I don't, but I only assume it's a she because of her attacking camps." I then got back on Blizzard and headed to the ground. Everyone got on their wyverns and flew with me. We followed the tracks for about five minutes till we came across a farm.
It was completely destroyed by this monster we were chasing. I landed in the closet field to the main building to see something laying in the center of the farm. I got off and I checked on what it was to see it was an arm. I saw Viz was coming and I held him off a bit. "It's a human arm Viz keep the young ones back a bit." I said and he didn't think twice when he ordered his crew to hold where they were. I dropped the arm after I felt it was still warm but fading colder. My heart started to beat a bit faster when I felt like eyes were watching me. "Blizzard!" I yelled in a extremely loud but deep voice, everyone jumped almost out of their skin.
Blizzard looked up at me and felt the glares of something too. As we scanned the near by woods for something we noticed two things. I saw what looked like the leg of the Giga I"d been tracking and I saw a group of creatures watching me. They seem to be human like and knew that I was watching them too. They didn't seem to be associated with the monster watching us. So I Got everyones attention with a shot with my simple pistol. "We have a Giga watching us get ready for her attack!" I said as the Monster cleared the forest and charged at us. Before it got too close Blizzard hit it from the side and knocked it over. As it went to grab Blizzard, I shot at it's face to get it to look at me.
It got back up and everyone tried to round up but kept tripping over their feet. "Ah shit, i'm going to have to save these newbies." I said out loud as I pulled a bigger heavier gun out of my pack. I had a Tech Pistol for emergenices with only eight shots left. I didn't enough ammo for this so I had to make it count. So as It charged at me again I took a shot and I hit its leg. It stumbled a bit then I saw Blizzard charge up her ice breath attack so I took cover. I heard Blizzard unleash her Ice storm of an attack on the Giga. I came out from behind the thing I was hiding next to to see a snow covered field. Blizzard looked tired but the Giga was some what still alive. I got close to them and I aimed my gun.
"I'm sorry my dear, but you've killed to many for it to be a simple feeding." I said to it as it stopped moving and looked right at me. I pulled the trigger about two times right to its head. Blizzard then used her spiked tail and cut its head right off for extra. "Damn girl, you didn't have to do all that." I said to Blizzard but she looked satisfied with her work. I shook my head before I checked for the creatures that were watching us. Viz came over and apoligized for his lack of helping. "We didn't preform this task like we should of, how can you repay you?" He asked me and I smiled, "you can keep those four but I requirer more stuff to make Kibble for my animals."
I told him and he agreed to my request. After we got everything and a trophy I looked back to the forest to see that there was only one female looking creature looking back at me. I dropped the map I had on me with my home marked. Viz saw me put it in a glass bottle and asked me why I did that. "I want people who might of fled into the woods to know who killed that monster." I said with a different goal in mind, in my head I thought that these creatures were something different but close to us. "Lets get going so we can report to Cyric and the leaders about what happened here." I said to Viz and his group, He nodded and whisled as I jumped on to Blizzard.
We took off and headed right for the Village and not my home first. It didn't take long since we were flying and when we went to land by the guild building. A Building were groups or tribes of people put requests for other tribes to finish for some kind of payment. After we landed right at the village I saw everyone was still hesitent about me. A man with his workers living far from the Village in a Rex infested island was strange to them. I smiled at a woman who was close to me and she glared at me. I felt Blizzard move and saw she was staring right at the woman. "Heel girl, she's just one of those townies." I said to my Wyvern and she settled down a bit.
I got the trophy out and asked Viz if he'd like to come with me. He asked me "why we didn't do anything to help a matter of fact you had to us a tech gun to save us?" I smiled at him and dragged him with me, "Doesn't matter we finished it and we'll bring in the prize." I said to him as we left his crew to look after Blizzard. When we went into the building I saw my old friends Pup, Cyric and Ken by the counter. They all turned to see me walking right at him with a Giga tooth and roll of skin. "Ah Jake, see you finished that quest for Viz here, what did you guys come across?" Cyris asked me and I smiled, "Sir, we found that the creature that attacked all those settlements."
"Well it was a Giga, and she was an angry one. Blizzard almost lost that fight but I used my lucky Tech pistol to finish the job." I said to him and I wanted to tell him about what else I saw but I stopped but gave him the "I got more to tell you but not here" Look. Pup saw this and had Ken take Viz to handle the reward for Viz's crew. I was asked to join Pup and Cyric in the private meeting hall. "What else did you find out there?" Cyric asked me and I told him. "Well, I saw a bunch of creatures, about ten of them watching us. They looked Human but had maskes or wearing weird things all over them." I looked at Pup see what he thought of what I saw and he seemed worried.
"We don't know of any other Ark crashing on this island but you never know. We need to know for sure of what you found, seek them out but be careful Jacob." Pup said to me as I look hesitent but I accepted the challenge. "I'll do it but I want to take only me and my Wyvern. Those guys with Viz aren't ready for first contact yet, I will also be returning home for a couple days to check over Blizzard." I said to Pup and he nodded agreeing to my stepulations. I left that small meeting to resupply and to give Blizzard a good long rest. So I got home after saying goodbye to Viz and his crew.
When I landed at home I saw that everyone was fine and even the Rexes were washed. I put Blizzard home and gave her food and plenty of water as check for cuts on her body. My brother and Just had heard I was home but were just now coming to greet me. "How did the hunt go brother, what did you kill?" Bradley asked me and I looked at him after I put ointment on Blizzard. "It was a Giga, and mean one at that, Blizzard here almost lost that fight. But thanks to my Tech Gun I took it down with her." I said to him, Bradley felt like there was something else behind my short story. "Oh we or I saw some kind of human like creature watching us the whole time."
I said to him and he didn't look suprised about my find. "What did you suspect something like that or what?" I asked him and he then reminded me about the ruins around the Island. "Do you really think that the people on this island all died out?" He asked me and I knew he was right, but something kept pulling at the back of my head. "Maybe it's whatever killed them off that was watching me. We all think that human lived here only but never stopped to think about the possiblity of a different race of people." I said not really talking to my Brother. Bradley agreed with my theory but still had questions. "I will be finding out what they are soon here, request from the leaders."
I told him and he didn't want me to go alone but I made a joke. "Well, I won't be alone, I'll have Blizzard here to help me, right girl." I said patting Blizzard, she smacked me with her wing playing along with me joke. I then stepped out from her and I looked at my brother. "I won't be in trouble, have I ever gotten into something I couldn't get out of?" I asked him and he shurgged then mentioned when I got into a fight back in the village years ago. "That was when we were first thinking about moving out here, now we haven't jumped into anything like that since." I said trying to get him to be ok with me only taking Blizzard with me.
I looked over to the next stable and saw my second wyvern I raised. She was looking right at us wanting to know what we were doing. "What if I take BlackRose there with me and Blizzard. She gets along with Blizzard and is a power house of a fire Wyvern like Blizzard." I suggested to my brother and he agreed having more than Blizzard as back up would be a safer move. So I then went right next to the stable and I asked BlackRose. "Would you help me tomorrow with a mission. Blizzard will be joining us, but I wanted to want you to come with?" I watched her looked at her Friend Blizzard then she seem to smile at me when she blew a bit of embers on my clothes.
"What did that mean brother?" Bradley asked me and I told him that was her way of saying yes. We talked about what I might find but I was to tired from the mission and hungry. So I left mid conversation to eat and rest, "We aren't done with this, you're going to need help." Bradley said not satisfied with me bringing two Wyverns with me. I got tired of his mouth so I said back to him. " I can do this on my own, that last group who traded for my children didn't even help on that mission. How can I depened on someone who's not left the farm in two years!" I said as I close the door behind me to my hut. Everyone heard that shook their heads as Bradley stood their.
I was still on the otherside of the door as I said through it. "I'm sorry, I don't want anyone to get in my way for this one. Diplomacy is my mission and I can only trust myself on this one." I heard my brother leave after that, I knew I made him mad but. I didn't want him to get hurt on this one. I didn't know if this new group of people were hostile or not. So doing this with only Blizzard and Blackrose was the safest way. Thats what I thought right as I was about to go to sleep. As I hit the pillow my mind went blank till the morning came. When I raised my head I saw that Brad was getting my wyverns ready for me. He was even talking to them as if he could under stand them.
"When you meet these new people I want you guys to protect my stupid brother. He means good but sometimes becomes blind to a pretty face." Brad said and I laughed to myself as I put on my clothes for the trip and backed more. I went to my weapons vault and saw a box of tech ammo sitting on the bottom. I put all of it into my tech gun and I grabbed my favorite knife. I then saw my hat on the hook and I grabbed it as I left the door. I got to Blizzard and my brother when he finished packing for my trip. I apoligized to him and told him that I'd see him when I returned home. With out another word I got both Blackrose and Blizzard to fly back to the now abandoned farm.
As we flew across the sky I felt something was about to happen but it wasn't a bad feeling. After about an hour of scrapping across the sky I saw what looked like people watching from the farm. I then saw a big group of people in the field. I patted Blizzard and the three of us started to land. We aimed ten feet from the front runner of the group. When we touched the ground I jumped off to get Blackrosa to guard our flank just incase. I took one look and saw that these people were not human at all. "Do any of you speak my language here?" I said to see that leader , who was a female nodded to me. "I'm Star one of many leaders of the Orkish, what brings you?" She said to me.
