Chapter 8 - Worship in Moonlight

Portia's P.O.V.:

My satin dress slipped from my body, pooling silently on the wooden floor of the deck. He laid me gently on the soft cushions of the sofa, under the gaze of the stars—silent witnesses to this wildest dream I'd drowned in. His kisses wandered across my skin, searching, savoring. Levi wasn't just touching me—he was imprinting himself on my body, my mind, and my soul.

He came face to face with me, his eyes locking onto mine. "Will you entrust your everything to me tonight?" he asked—formally this time, unlike the first. I closed my eyes and nodded, ready to give all of myself to him. He leaned down, capturing my lips in a deep, passionate kiss. He devoured every part of me, from my lips to every inch below. If heaven is real, I'm sure I visited it with every touch he made. His lips became my religion, and my hips, his altar. We worshipped each other in the language of love.

He asked for permission before entering me, and I welcomed him fully. Pain and pleasure blurred, giving us glimpses of paradise. Our breaths and moans became the soundtrack of the night. We reached that perfect surrender—exhausted, but victorious in what we fought for. He looked into my eyes like I was his favorite city, his devilish smirk playing on his lips.

"Oh boy, why do you look so pretty like a devil?"

"Can't get tired of you," he whispered into my ear before lying beside me. My face flushed. "Up for another round?" he teased, his tongue brushing the back of my ear—sending sparks through my body. I looked at him just as he moved over me again. That sexy laugh of his slipped out. Here we go again. I rolled my eyes as his kisses restarted.

"You're so aggressive and greedy," I teased.

"Yeah," he said without shame. "Too greedy to own you." His lips trailed down, leaving kisses along my belly. Boy, that was sensational. This night wasn't just beautiful—it was unforgettable. No—every night with him could be the prettiest.

I woke up to the scent of fresh air.

Still in the cabin, my hand reached instinctively for Levi—but he wasn't there. My eyes snapped open. No trace of him. I slipped into a robe and rushed out. Room to room, no sign of him. Then I reached the helm. There he was—his hands steady on the yacht's controls. I wrapped my arms around him from behind.

"Hey. I thought you left me," I whispered, my lips brushing his back.

"Huh? I'm right here. Why would you think I'd leave you?" He turned to face me.

"Because you left me once," I murmured, burying my face into his scent. He frowned, confused. He lifted me like I weighed nothing, cradling me in his arms.

"Hey, woman—you're not wearing anything under that annoying robe," he whispered.

I just nodded and playfully slapped his shoulder.

"Did you know it's a crime to wear nothing around me?" he said, smirking before kissing me so roughly I nearly melted.

He leaned me against the wall. One hand at my waist, the other teasing my chest—my moan escaped before I could stop it, and he chuckled against my lips. Then he pulled away and fixed my robe.

"Get dressed. We're having breakfast, and then we're going somewhere." He left me breathless and confused.

Back in the cabin, I found a box on the bed. My name was written on it. I opened it and found a beautiful bohemian-inspired dress with a slit up the right side and an elegant off-shoulder cut. There were undergarments, too, and a note:

"Bought you new pairs because I tossed the old ones and couldn't find them anymore."

My cheeks flushed. There were even flats that matched. "Hmm? What is he planning?" I wondered out loud. I took a bath, dropped in a bath bomb, and soaked for 15 minutes before getting ready. It took 45 minutes total.

As I stepped out, Levi stood at the door.

"What took you so long?" he asked, the moment I opened the door.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," I replied.

He nodded, taking my hand. "I thought you drowned in the tub," he muttered.

I giggled. He glared at me with that deadly stare—honestly, it was scary but also… kind of cute.

"What are you looking at?" he asked, brows raised.

"You look hot raising your eyebrows," I said, giggling.

"Such a brat. Let's eat breakfast." Always with that dull expression. This man was impossible to read.

We ate in silence—he hated talking during meals. Once we finished, I dared to speak.

"Where's the helmsman?"

He set down his utensils. "I sent him back by boat. I'm bringing you to one of my houses."

"But what about my hotel reservation?" I asked.

"Call them. Tell them to extend it—I'll pay," he offered casually.

"Oh, you're right. I'll call after breakfast," I said, and he nodded.

"I'll get the yacht ready," he said before turning away.

I pulled out my phone and saw missed messages from Erin. I called him.

"Hey, Erin. Sorry for the late reply—I had something going on last night," I said.

"It's okay. I'm just glad you picked up. How's your day so far?" he asked.

"I'm doing fine. How about you?"

"I'm good. I'm checking out today. How long are you staying?"

"Three more days, maybe."

"Well, I guess I'll see you back at school," he said before hanging up.

Just as I lowered the phone, arms wrapped around me again.

"Ready to sail?" Levi whispered into my ear.

"Yes, of course," I replied excitedly.

He led me to the helm, took control of the yacht, and we began our next journey—toward his home.
