The students were fine; they had just left the laboratory to go for lunch when they heard the explosion from the lab before even reaching the stairway and hurried back to see the fire.
Polly Sutton and Grace Yates returned to the school at the fastest speed, and the laboratory was in ruins, with quite a bit of data burned.
"It's good you're okay." Polly Sutton checked on her students and was relieved to see they were unharmed, "How did the explosion happen?"
The three students looked at each other, then finally a boy stepped forward, "It seems that the box the teacher brought accidentally touched the power source, which caused the explosion."

With a puzzled look, Polly Sutton went to see the box Victor Parker had given her, which was burned, but the stone was still there.
"Is Victor Parker trying to blow me up?" Polly Sutton joked.
"Don't say such things." Grace Yates frowned and said, "What is this item, and why did it suddenly explode?"
