Cecil, the youngest daughter, quickly jolted away from Averon with fear in her eyes.
This caused the other two to stop hugging him as well. Queen Sophia abruptly stood up and also put up a distance from her husband.
"No no no, he's lying! He's lying!" The real Averon tried getting close to his family, but this caused them to step back even more.
"Enough." Jake theatrically drew his sword and pointed it at Averon. "Don't you dare harm their souls."
Stretching his free hand towards the women, he said with utmost seriousness, "Quick, come to me. It's dangerous right now."
On one side, you've got a lone Averon without any support. On the other side, the disguised Jake had various court officials to legitimize his identity. He was even wearing the royal crown. To a bystander, it was obvious who's the real deal.
However, Queen Sophia wasn't going to be fooled so easily. Even though she didn't know who to trust, she didn't blindly run towards Jake and backed away even further.
