Chapter 431 - The Champion of Power's Invasion 1/5

Jayr POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

The air is heavy with tension as everyone awaits what is to come under this beautiful starry sky.

For days, the Great Jura Forest had been holding its breath with faint signs of the growing expectations.

The Tempest Wolves felt it in the ground, the Hobgoblins whispered about it in their half-built streets, the monsters living in the forest were unusually tame, even the very trees had gone quiet, their leaves trembling with some primal instinct because they all knew it. Something greater than a storm, way more dangerous and devastating than a natural disaster, was coming.

However, this eerie phenomenon wasn't isolated only to the massive Great Jura Forest, but it was happening all over the Central World. Everyone knew what was about to come; they put aside their differences, and they prepared to face this.

Suddenly, the sky itself split apart with a screeching, tearing sound that sends a shiver running down everyone's back, while the tension in the air reached its peak as everyone realized that this is the signal that the invasion has truly started.

Above us, the heavens cracked open in jagged red fissures, lightning clawing outward from a rift that shouldn't exist.

The pressure of foreign power rushed into this world like a tide, and my Spiral Cosmo stirred uneasily, already answering the challenge.

Soon, the first Cybertronian war engine forced its way through the rift and fell on this world, each step a drumbeat that shook the forest floor.

Its plating was blackened steel, its arms remade into cannons the size of towers, its optics glowing with a cold, mechanical hunger.

It was followed by another, then another, the rift in the sky keeps widening as more and more mechanical juggernauts fell into this world until the entire horizon seemed to walk forward on metal legs.

Behind them surged masses of other horrors: twisted constructs of steel and flesh, creatures warped by the Champion of Power's will, legionnaires stitched together from the broken remnants of conquered worlds. A living tide of mechanical ruin.

From here, I am able to spot quite few familiar designs among them the most like the smaller, humanoid, Kaylons from the Orville TV Show who are flying out of the rift in their spherical spaceships, the hulking Cindorite from the Tales of Arcadia Universe who fell into this world like the Cybertronians, and the sneaky Mimics from the Edge of Tomorrow Universe who crashed on this planet in the form of an asteroid shower.

Their presence immediately makes me almost praise my overly careful past self, who messed around with the timestream, making all kinds of time manipulation abilities and technologies useless and even outright deadly for the user.

I stand at the edge of Rimuru's town, my Digimon Incarnation, and my Digimon Partners, Patamon, V-mon, and Wormmon, at my side.

My friends were gathered right behind me: Nikita, Zandeer, Jouichi, Nellika, Iggy, Aletha, Paul, Hajime, Goza, and the others.

Rimuru and his followers are right behind them, while the people of the town stood further back, weapons shaking in their hands, eyes wide with fear.

Paul's voice breaks the silence, low and bitter, "He brought them here too…"

I take a quick look at him and notice that his fists tremble, and for a moment, I thought he'd fly straight into the rift out of sheer rage, but for now he is still restraining himself.

I take a deep breath as I quickly use my Cosmic Awareness to scan the whole Central World, and as expected, what is happening here is also happening all over the world with the forces of the Champion of Power amassing everywhere, ready and eager to confront and crush the opposing forces.

Yet, they still do not move; they simply stand some distance away from their targets as their numbers continuously increase, waiting.

At this point, I use my Telephathy to contact my allies in this world and tell them, [Get ready. It's about to start.]

In response, I perceive all my allies all over the world as they fully prepare to confront the enemies.

Hajime and Oscar quickly summoned the countless Golems they had created since I first requested their aid many months ago.

Zandeer brings out his army of powerful Grimm Hollows, ready to follow his command and rip apart our enemies.

However, they are the only ones openly revealing their cards, as many more are still hidden, waiting for the right time to reveal themselves.

Like the Tengen Toppa Dai Gurren Brigade that is currently staying out of this world, high above in space, in the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren, which has currently taken the place and is masquerading as the moon, hovering around this planet.

Or like ones waiting within the Athena's God Bidoof hovering above the city of Tempest, ready to unleash hell on the enemy force.

Then, I see it, the Champion of Power arrives at last as he emerges from the rift in the sky.

For the first time, I finally take a good look at the Champion of Power, the one who chose to be reincarnated as a Cybertronian, more specifically, it seems that he became a Predacon, who generally transform into dinosaurs, other reptiles, insects, and amphibians.

His beast form is that of a huge Wallace's Giant Bee, whose size dwarfs most of the other Decepticons and Predacons, and despite its size, it has an astonishing flying speed as it lands on this planet in the blink of an eye.

Then it quickly takes his humanoid form, which is even scarier, with his razor-sharp claws that seem able to rip apart anything, the thick torso formed by the Wallace's Giant Bee's head, the vicious, shining red eyes that seem to ooze pure Energon.

Overall, he looks like something out of someone's nightmare, and it is clear that the Champion of Power isn't drawing his immense power only from his Blessing.

He didn't need to shout, didn't need to posture; his presence alone was enough.

A crushing weight of sheer force that pressed down on the land itself; the world almost bent around him, as if creation itself strained to contain his existence, and through my Cosmic Awareness, I see it.

Its immense and faint shadow is looming over everything, Unicron.

At this point, the Champion of Power simply and silently raised one hand, and the next moment, the invasion began.

Aletha POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

"Here we bloody go!"

The Champion of Power's gesture sent the army forward like a tidal wave.

The Cybertronian vanguard fires their cannons in unison, beams of searing plasma ripping through the treeline with explosions swallowing the forest all over the place.

I snap my staff-shaped CAD (Casting Assistant Device) in place and point it forward, and then, in an instant, I unleash the spell upon our enemies without the need to chant or do any other action.

The next moment, Chaos-infused lightning cascades into the oncoming tide, ripping machines apart in showers of molten steel.

But for every one that fell, ten more follow, putting quite a bit of pressure on us, but not enough to force the use of our trump cards, not yet, at least.

Seeing that, I do not hesitate to wave my staff-shaped CAD again and instantly unleash a barrage of more Chaos-infused lightning upon our enemies with little to no gap from one spell to another.

I'm able to do that thanks to the CAD I've built using everything I've learned in the Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Universe, as this device incorporates synthetic materials, artificially manufactured Neurons that convert Psion signals into electric signals, using the Psion from a magic ritual to produce a collection of electronic magic, the Activation Sequence.

CADs allow the processing of all the necessary components for magic in a single moment. In detail, these devices help accelerate the invocation of magic, as well as provide stability.

CADs replace traditional tools such as spell chants, talismans, magic staves, tomes, hand seals, magic circles, and other traditional methods of invoking magic, and they even allow me to use magic in universes where it is usually not possible. It is a tool of necessity for any modern and beautiful Witch.

While my mind wanders a little, I hear Rimuru's voice as it rings out, impossibly steady, "Don't let them reach the barricades!"

I glanced aside and saw the Tempest Wolves leap into the air, fangs blazing with stormfire, while Hobgoblins, Dwarves, and Humans brace spears enchanted with my own deadly charms.

The entire settlement had become a fortress almost overnight, but watching that endless horde descend, it feels like trying to stop a flood with a dam of paper.

A shadow blurs past me, and soon I realize that it is Paul. He slams into the frontlines with a detonation of raw force and rage, his Viltrumite bloodline tearing apart steel like it was clay.

He rips through mechanical constructs with bare hands, every blow fueled by his immense grief.

Taking a deep breath to calm down my emotions while also making full use of the Occlumency I learned in my home universe, I mutter as I take a quick look at the current situation, "Not enough. Not nearly enough… It is too soon. We have to hold on for a little longer."

Rimuru POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

There is no room for hesitation; the instant the first shells hit, I do not hesitate to unleash Ranga.

He emerges from my shadow in a burst of stormwinds, his thunderous howl shaking the battlefield.

His pack follows immediately after him, wolves of lightning that carve a path through the enemy machines.

Seeing that, I do not waste any more time and immediately command before the situation turns even more chaotic, "Rigurd! Get the non-combatants into the shelters!" Which makes the massive Hobgoblin reply, "Yes, Rimuru-sama!"

Then I look at the very first friend I made since I've reincarnated in this world, the one who gave me the name Rimuru, and ask, "Are you ready to let loose?"

Veldora's human form has blond hair and golden eyes with two black lines under each of them in a zigzag pattern that are also seen on his arms, and he is over two meters tall.

His face is very similar to mine, though much more masculine compared to my more androgynous features, likely Veldora's own choice.

He wears a black cape that is red inside and what looks like gauntlets, but nothing else on the upper body, and on the lower body, he wears black pants and what looks like armored boots.

(Image Here - Veldora Tempest)

As Veldora learned to suppress his tremendous aura before leaving the Sealed Cave, he appears to most people as merely a handsome, albeit slightly intimidating, young man; however, behind that facade, there is still the Storm Dragon Veldora, one of the most powerful beings of this world.

In response to my question, Veldora grins and says, "Hell yeah! It has been so long since I've actually let loose without worrying about anything else!"

The next moment, he rushes out and starts to unleash all kinds of lightning-based spells upon our enemies, blowing them all apart, clearly showing why he was called the Storm Dragon.

At the same time, I follow after him, Magicules surge within me with Raphael calmly guiding my casting, its analytical voice a lifeline amid the chaos of the battle.

I also hurl spell after spell, water Blades carving through armored plating, Black Lightning reducing constructs to twisted wreckage.

Still, they continue to come. Unbroken. Unending.

The Champion of Power hasn't even moved yet; he watches from the rear, arms folded, the faintest of smirks on his face that oozes pure confidence.

And above us, I feel something else, something vast. A gaze from beyond the rift, heavy, immense, and ancient.

As if the invasion wasn't only his doing. As if something even worse waited just behind the curtain of reality. Unicron, the Lord of Chaos, the Chaos Bringer, and the Planet Eater. And it is not alone.

Paul POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

Every strike I throw lands with metal-shattering force, every machine I destroy crumple like paper under my fists, but it isn't enough. Not compared to what I truly want.

I want to see him bleed, I want to rip his limbs apart, I want to wipe off that infuriating grin from his face.

I tear the head off a random Cybertronian and hurl it at the Champion of Power's damned feet while roaring, "LOOK AT ME!" My voice broke with fury.

Finally, he turns his gaze toward me. Cold. Dismissive. Then all he says is simply, "You are beneath me."

The words cut deeper than his claws could ever do. My rage threatens to blind me, to hurl me straight into his waiting hand, but then, Jayr's voice cut into my head, [Calm down. Be steady. Not yet. Hold back a little bit more. Wait for the right moment. I promise you'll have the chance to fulfill your revenge, but for now, you must be patient. Remember, this isn't just about you.]

I grit my teeth, chest heaving, every instinct screaming at me to charge in, to completely obliterate the main target of my fury; however, Jayr's advice and promise helped me rein in my wrath and bring back my reason, 'But if I do that… I'd lose more than just myself. I may lose the only chance I have to eliminate them all once and for all. And more importantly, I may lose the chance to see them again. My parents. My brother. My friends... Her!'

With that single thought in my head, I force my fury down, even as my fists bleed as a result of clenching them so hard.

Then I take one last look at the infuriating figure of the Champion of Power, the one that constantly appeared in my nightmares since that day, while thinking, 'But soon... I'd make him look at me. And it will be the last thing his mechanical eyes will ever see in this life...!'

At the same time, I feel the effects of the Unique Skill I've gained when I arrived in this universe fully activate.

As my hatred and resentment toward the Champion of Power keep growing in intensity, they are then turned into pure power for me to use.

The armors protecting my enemies seem to get frailer and frailer as my attacks become more and more effective against them.

Lastly, my Holy Power and Stamina endlessly surge, constantly recovering a certain amount of them every minute, making me feel like I could fight forever until nothing is left of my enemies.

Taking full advantage of this new surge of energy, I dive back into the fight with the clear intent of destroying as many enemies as possible.

Jayr POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

The battlefield roars with steel and storm, my Digimon Partners tear into the enemy ranks with relentless ferocity, their forms shifting and evolving mid-battle to meet every threat.

Patamon already evolved into Holy Angemon, and his holy blasts vaporized corrupted constructs with extreme effectiveness.

V-mon evolved into EXV-mon, and his massive mechanical claws ripped through the steel giants as if they were made of butter.

Wormmon evolved into Jewelbeemon, masterfully using his spear to precisely kill off the enemies with one single blow.

I carve through the tide with wide-range attacks like Torrential Rain and precise single-target spells like Sagitta Magica, every strike cutting swathes of destruction.

I also made sure to support the allies who were having problems and subtly teleport the wounded back to the Athena's God Bidoof, where Melusine and the other healers quickly took care of them and sent them back to the battlefield.

The reason why I have to send the wounded to the Athena's God Bidoof instead of simply healing them on the battlefield using Restoration Magic is because currently it is impossible to use Restoration Magic, and any other Time based ability or magic, anywhere in this multiverse as result of me messing up the timestream and the inside of the Athena's God Bidoof is the only place where such abilities can be safely used.

But even as I fought, my thoughts weren't on the enemies before me. They were on the trap.

Weeks ago, I had seeded this entire universe with hidden anchors, threads of Spiral Cosmo woven into the very reality of the universe, invisible chains waiting for a signal.

They are all linked to my newly evolved Ultimate Skill Solomon, Lord of the Universe, a literally infinite universe bound to me and cut off from anything else in the Omniverse, almost impossible to escape from, and solid enough to withstand battles capable of destroying a really insane number of universes with a single exchange.

One gesture from me, and this whole universe will be swallowed and cut off from the rest of the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, allowing our heavy hitter to let go of all their restraints and go absolutely wild on our enemies without worrying about damaging the rest of this multiverse, thus protecting it from the effects of this apocalyptic war.

My hand twitches every time I look at him, every time I see the Champion of Power's confident smirk, every time I see Paul's grief. I wanted to spring it now, to end this wave before it harmed even more people. But it isn't the time yet.

If I triggered it now, Unicron and the Chaos Gods would be free to do whatever they wanted with the rest of this multiverse.

They may even sense the danger and outright retreat, and the trap would lose its true meaning, as entities with their level of power are actually the most cautious ones.

No, this has to land at the exact moment their arrogance blinds them, when their absolute confidence turns to overreach, when Unicron and the Chaos Gods fully commit to this invasion.

That is when I'd cut their legs from beneath them, where I'll trap them in my personal, prison-like universe, where they will finally meet their end once and for all.

So I fight. And I wait. And I hold back, the restraint burning worse than any wound I could ever receive as I feel the ones I should be protecting suffer, bleed, and even die.

Another construct lunges for me, but I easily cut it down in a single strike, blood mixing with oil on my trusty Tactical Arms, Sword Form, my eyes lock onto the Champion of Power across the battlefield, and I whisper a promise to myself, "Not yet... But soon."

Nikita POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

I have fought countless battles before, both in my home universe fighting by my sister's side and also in my many adventures with my husband Zandeer and my close friend Jayr across the Omniverse, but never one that looked like this.

The forest itself burns under the weight of clashing forces; the night and its beautiful starry sky were gone, replaced by the glow of fire and the hum of metal giants.

I take a moment to regain my breath and take a quick look at the situation, in particular regarding my group of friends that is made up of Champions and former Champions.

Zandeer's Grimm Hollow pour into the fray, looking like shadows with teeth ripping into Cybertronians with relentless ferocity, fearing neither death nor defeat.

Zandeer is also among them, using his still sealed Zanpakuto to slice the mechanical abomination into pieces.

Aletha is hurling Chaos-infused spells that tear holes in the sky and cause pure devastation on the enemy lines.

Nellika makes full use of the assassin training she received from her family to move unseen, despite the very advanced technology of the enemy, and swiftly takes out the most troublesome opponents while also unleashing pure mayhem with her Looney Tunes-inspired Hatsu.

Jouichi and Iggy have almost perfect teamwork as they use their Stands to incapacitate the enemies, making them easy targets for our weaker allies.

Paul is unleashing all his well-placed rage and frustration on any mechanical construct that enters in field of sight, fighting with seemingly reckless abandon; however, I know that his Unique Skill can grant him almost infinite stamina and energy, especially in this kind of situation.

And through it all, Jayr stands at the center of the battlefield, his Spiral Cosmo is like a star burning against the mechanical tide and supporting us all.

But I know him well, I see the tension in his movements, the way his gaze always flicks back to the Champion of Power before focusing back on the battlefield.

He is holding back and restraining himself to truly act despite every fiber of his being wanting to unleash all his immense power to help us win this battle as quickly as possible and thus save as many lives as possible.

But he doesn't; he is painfully waiting for the right moment to spring his trap, and when he does, the Champion of Power and the entities behind him will surely regret their choice.

With that last thought, I focus back on the battle, making full use of all my physical abilities as a Tribird to cause as much damage as possible and gather enough materials to do a ritual powerful enough to curse an entire species, like planned.

Jayr POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

The first clash became a slaughter, not for one side or the other, but for both.

Cybertronians and other mechanical species fell in heaps of twisted metal, Grimm Hollow collapsed in clouds of shadow, and Rimuru's people bled but held their ground. The forest was gone, replaced by a wasteland of fire and ruin.

And still I wait as I keep careful watch of everything that is happening in this multiverse using my Cosmic Awareness.

The Champion of Power hasn't lifted a finger; he watches amused as if this battle is nothing more than sport.

His arrogance will be their undoing. I just have to let him and those behind him believe it long enough.

Holy Angemon lands beside me, wings singed as he asks, "Jayr, why aren't you..." I cut him off, my voice tight, "Not yet."

EXV-mon punches through the chest of a construct, turning back to me, saying, "But we can end this now!"

Again, my voice is firm as I say with finality, "Not yet. Trust Saori's Plan."

Jewelbeemon's eyes narrow, but he nods, trusting me without question, before all three of them focus back on the battle.

Shortly after that, I clench my fists, my Spiral Cosmo rages for release, every fiber of my being screaming to trigger the trap, but patience is the sharper blade, and I will not waste it.

Unicron, the Chaos Gods, and a good part of their army, which includes an almost endless swarm of Chaos Daemons, still haven't made their appearance yet.

So I have to wait. Wait for them to bring all their forces here. For them to grow greedy, looking at this appetizing banquet in the form of this massive multiverse. For them to come and taint this battlefield with their presence.

At this point, I look again at the Champion of Power, his silhouette framed against the burning rift high in the night sky that keeps spewing an endless horde of mechanical abominations, my voice is a low growl, a vow sealed by fire and blood as I whisper, "The moment will come... And when it does… You all will fall."
