Cain stood once more before the Wall of Fire and Flesh.
Behind him gathered the combined forces of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance, their presence filling the void with layered auras of power and resolve. This time, two additional Empyrean Worlds were present.
At the very front stood Markin and Kaizer.
The expressions on their faces were solemn as they stared at the horror before them. This was their first time facing the World of the Root directly, and the sight was enough to chill even beings of their stature. The void around the Wall of Fire and Flesh itself seemed hostile, saturated with malice and hunger.
It was terrifying.
Cain glanced briefly at the duo and shook his head faintly.
The World of the Root was indeed horrifying—but after facing it time and time again, he and the members of the alliance had grown accustomed to its grotesque nature. Whether that familiarity was a blessing or a curse was hard to say, but it made action far easier.
