Nathan Bolton returned to Yanjingel in high spirits, only to find Thomas Lucas in a state of utter despondency.
Nathan was in a great mood and asked him, "Aren't you a dad now? What's the matter?"
Thomas began to complain bitterly, "Oh, being a dad? The kid's mom is a marriage skeptic. No matter how much I tried to hoodwink her, she insisted on packing her bags and moving back to Cloud City. I nearly knelt down and begged her to stay."
"You could try kneeling."
"It's no use," Thomas didn't want to mention that when he was about to kneel, Ivy Cooper said kneeling wouldn't help and blocked his path.
"She wants to be a single mom?"
"Yeah, can you believe she thinks like that? I just can't figure out her mindset."
"Thomas, the key to pursuing someone is sincerity."
"I know, but my situation is different. You and Belle have a foundation of feelings, while we only had a night of passion. I don't even know what she likes, and she hasn't given me the chance to know."
