The convoy was silent, too silent. Nobody talked at all as they silently, fearfully, and anxiously made their way towards the mission goal. Alan was still at the front of the carrier, guarding it from any foolish monster that would dare attack.
None had, not a single monster had dared to do so since the start of the mission. Alan was content with that, it made him happy. As the days passed by and they got closer to the target, Alexander finally mustered up the courage to ask.
[Why? How?]
He contacted Alan through a private line. There was more emphasis on the 'how' based on his tone. Alan grunted.
"I felt like it."
His answer was as true as it could be.
[That's stupid.]
He retorts back, but doesn't pursue the matter further. The convoy, all of it, even Amanda, Ryan, and Howard are scared shitless. But could they be blamed? All they saw was a veil of black descend upon their vehicle, blocking all forms of observation.
