"Mmmhhhh…" Serena moaned as she moved her arm to cover her eyes from the bright sunlight that's filtering inside the room. Why was it so bright? It's just… huh? She moved her arms as her eyes suddenly widened in alarm. She looked to her side only to see that the spot Charlton was sleeping on was already empty. Did he leave already?
Quickly, she stood from the bed in confusion, walked to the bathroom and did not see him there either. Since when did he leave? Wasn't she supposed to help him? And… she looked at the time. 11:08. She overslept.
She grunted as she knocked her head with her fist. As she was not able to sleep till the orange hues of sunlight has illuminated the room, she decided that she would rather not sleep and wait till Charlton wakes up. That way, she would be the first thing he sees when he opens his eyes. She knew that the meeting of house of lords commences at 9 in the morning, and so, Charlton should be awake by 7 at the latest and she can help him prepare.
