The next day.
Just as the sky was getting light, Lu Jing woke up.
But the person next to her, for once, hadn't disappeared like usual, and was still sound asleep.
Lu Jing was a little surprised, staying still for a few seconds, staring unblinkingly.
After about half a minute, she finally moved her shoulder a bit.
Slowly lifting the quilt, she got up and left the bed.
Just as she was about to head to the bathroom, she saw the phone that someone had thrown on the carpet last night light up.
Seeing the caller ID, it was Jiang's mother.
If it was a call from work or someone else, Lu Jing would never answer it.
But for Jiang's mother, she could answer.
She quickly took the phone outside and looked back.
Seeing the person on the bed hadn't been woken up, she quietly answered:

The voice on the other end almost called out "son," but swallowed it back down.

Great, it was clear now, her son must have been with his wife last night.
