Matilda's POV:
The cup warmed my frozen hand. I was still hesitating. Baron did not rush me. Instead, he waited quietly for my response. I stared into his blue eyes.
How should I put this? Yes, I did float a car without realizing it. But did I also open a wooden house illegally and start the fire in the fireplace? I felt as though I had gone crazy.
"Calm down, Matilda," Baron said to me. I could see his Adam's apple bob.
Yes, yes, calm down. It wasn't a big deal. It was just an inexplicable powerful force. Nothing could be worse.
A bolt of lightning flashed past, accompanied by a clap of thunder.
I was so scared that I threw my cup down and jumped into Baron's arms. This was great. Even the weather was here to help!
He hugged me and patted my back gently. His high body temperature made me feel much better. Something was stuck in my throat. I guess it was my guilt. I should have talked to him about this a long time ago, long before the day I discovered it.
