Chapter 1 - A Wall?

Soo continued walking forward as he always had, no stopping, no deviating, no fear.

Looking around at the barren land that stretched for Kilometers, Soo scanned around with his magic-enhanced vision, looking for any sign of anything. Normally, this desert wasteland was riddled with monsters; creatures, and atrocities from a place one could only assume is Hell. But, for the past few months, the monsters have become weaker and much fewer in number.

Soo looked around, spotting a simple rabbit-like creature a kilometer away. He flicked the most basic of magic spells, a simple condensed mana bullet, and, in an instant, the rabbit creature exploded.

"Have I entered the territory of something powerful?" Soo asked himself. He assumed that the creature must be powerful enough to scare away even the biggest of monsters, while the little ones posed so little threat that they were ignored.

For as long as he had walked, he had never seen such few and such weak creatures. He could only wonder about the area he had walked into.

Soo continued to walk around, scanning everything as he did, the most he would find was a herd of boar-like creatures, larger than boars that were common on earth but weak compared to what Soo was used to. He focused on one and saw the information pop up in his eyes:

~Undead Boar~

*A low-level undead creature. The individual threat level is low but often roams in large herds, which can be an issue even to some (low)-intermediate level beings.

*Immune to most magic types of the same level.

*Extremely weak to the holy element.

Soo had heard of the holy element before. It was the only magic element he couldn't grasp, which puzzled him. Everything else was almost second nature. He had also never seen a creature capable of using said holy element, only some that were weak to it. It made him wonder, but he brushed it off once again.

Another thing Soo noticed was the changing topography. Once flat land was turning into mounds and even hills, no monstrous creatures were around to flatten the land and riddle it with craters. No more monster corpses or remains of any sort were around either. It was common to see the creatures fight one another, even those of the same type, but not here, even the different creatures didn't fight at all anymore.

While pondering his current situation, Soo noticed something coming at him not much further than a few hundred meters away.

A bull! Well, not quite a bull. It was a large, dark red bull with large, spear-like horns. He quickly focused and read the information that popped up:

~Blood Bull~

*A bull demon resulting from the demonization of a common bull. It will use its sharp horns to pierce and absorb the blood of its victims, using the blood to strengthen itself. The darker the red, the stronger the bull.

*After enough blood is absorbed, it will mutate into a Blood Minotaur, increasing its strength exponentially.

*Note that though the Blood Bull is strong, it is reckless and will often attack anything without thought.

Soo sighed when he read the information.

"An interesting creature but.."

Soo pointed and shot his mana bullet. Once again, the bull exploded almost immediately, with no chance of even knowing it was going to die.

Soo had fought with multiple Blood Minotaurs. Some could get quite strong if allowed to absorb enough blood, but even the strongest of them were mere flies to him now.

He carried on with his journey when all of a sudden he stopped. Soo stared ahead at something he had never seen before, a wall, dozens of kilometers ahead of him. Well, he had seen broken walls, ruins, and remains of wiped-out civilizations, but the wall he saw in the distance was intact. It stretched for miles wrapping around something, he couldn't see through it which also surprised him, for the most part, nothing normal could hinder his vision, which meant these walls were infused with magic, very high-level magic at that.

For the first time in a very long time, Soo felt anxious. He didn't know what would be behind that wall. Maybe...people?

After what Soo counted to be nearly a million years, despite having been searching since he first came to this Hell of a world, he no longer expected to find any sort of civilization still intact.

After pausing to take it in and gather his thoughts, Soo pressed forward, he knew that, despite the wall being Kilometers away, he could reach it in less than a few minutes if he enhanced his speed with magic but, he took his time and proceeded with caution despite his excitement and curiosity. He had a million thoughts in his head, combing through the possibilities of what may lie ahead, humans, monsters, maybe something else, he didn't know. He just knew, he just felt that once he reached the other side of the wall, things would be different from what he's been living through so far, and he knew he was ready for whatever was ahead.
