By the time we all made it into one of the larger and more lavish boutiques in the entire Empire we had already needed to send quite a few things home, up to and including raw materials that Anput wanted, herbs that Leone wanted, gemstones that all of the pups demanded, and of course... sharpened weapons that the pups also wanted.
On top of that I needed to have a sufficient amount of food waiting for us back home to ensure that the inevitable resurgence of hunger that we all tended to feel would be a hunger that was satiated with healthy and delicious foods instead of just whatever we managed to find in any of the street stalls we had already passed.
It wasn't that I didn't enjoy the food that we had picked up here or there, but I would rather have something I made since it would have everything that I wanted inside of it, which was slowly shaping out to be yet another unhealthy yet super delicious spread of all kinds of meats.
