Does that mean I can also awaken something like this? If so, then how? I didn't have the guts to ask this question what if he thinks I am trying to revolt against him?
So many things happening altogether that it felt pretty overwhelming...
-----------------
Greenland,
It was bland and cold, thick ice and grassland surrounded all of them. There were remnants of trees, though, due to the recent blizzard, they were all covered in snow.
Midas was seated on a golden chair that shimmered against the white desolation, defying the frost as though even the cold dared not touch him. Beside him stood Joel, while the fifty soldiers were spread out unevenly around them.
They all were anxious, looking around, maybe they were trying to single out who to go for... But they didn't move an inch all waiting for the command.
Then Midas Spoke...
Midas: It's going to be Brawl. The first to fall will be rank 50, then 49, 48, and so on. It doesn't matter how you survive or fight.
Begin!
The command rang out. No one moved.
Then—crack!
Diamond spikes burst from the earth, ripping through the battlefield like jagged lightning. Snow. Ice. Flesh. All of it, gone in seconds.
The Brawl begins.
Midas sat looking at them though he seemed different...
Joel: Sir! Those weren't the rules... Were they supposed to fight for the coins?
Joel questioned, though Midas merely glances, not even giving the answer... Joel shuts up, there was nothing else he could've done.
Midas turned his gaze toward the chaos — but he wasn't watching the brawl.
His eyes were fixed, unblinking, as if he saw something else entirely. Something the rest of them couldn't.
He was looking at their desires.
Midas(thinking): Maria! She wants a bungalow... Roberto wants to become the best fighter.... Huh.
The fight continued,
A middle-aged man was locked in combat. His fists were coated in diamond, gleaming like gauntlets.
He hammered away at a diamond shield protecting a younger figure crouched beneath it.
Each strike sent ripples through the air.
Each blow cracked the barrier a little more.
Crack—Crack—CRASH!
The shield shattered.
But the boy didn't flinch.
The middle-aged man grinned.
Middle-aged Man:
"Only diamond can break diamond, kiddooo!"
But the boy was already moving—slipping past the man's incoming one-two punch.
He ducked low and drove his knee, diamond-coated, straight into the man's gut.
A dull thud echoed, sharp enough to silence the chaos for a heartbeat.
The middle-aged man, grunting in pain, fell down.
While on the opposite side, another man hid nearby, pretending to be a knocked-out figure among others.
A bit far away was a woman fighting among a group of full-fledged warriors in diamond armour and using a diamond stick as her weapon.
The fight was a spectacle, The sound of diamond shattering like glass rang across the field—sharp, clean, final.
The wind caught the fragments, scattering them like glittering dust, each shard catching the light as if the sky itself were bleeding stars.
Joel watched in awe.
Anyone would be speechless in the face of such beauty born from violence.
But not Midas rather he was...
Midas(mumbling): Disappointing.
Soon the fight was coming as there were only a few people who were standing now...
Suddenly,
Joel: ENOUGH.
Fallen soldiers were everywhere, though their injuries didn't seem severe, even though they should've been, maybe the diamond was saving them.
Joel walked forward. He had a look on his face; he was very amused. The will of youth was shimmering in his eyes.
Behind him, Midas followed with a cold expression.
Joel: Amazing You all...
Joel started clapping, and all the standing seemed a bit flustered.
Soldier: Thank You... Mr. Joel
Midas stood in the centre.
Midas: Truly Amazing... Though I expected More.
As soon as Midas said this a sense of dissatisfaction rippled in their faces..
Soldier1: What does he mean?
Soldier2: After all this...
Soldier3: Huh! He shouldn't say that.
They were all thinking something different but nobody argued...
Midas: So many differences among you, it's hard to know who is affiliated and who is not... Right Traitor Max!
Tension thickened in the air, rising like a tide.
Everyone was confused—until they followed Midas's gaze.
All eyes turned to one man standing silently among them.
His hand dripped with blood.
Yet not a scratch marked his body.
Thump.
The silence cracked.
One of the soldiers charged—fist cocked, fury blazing in his eyes—
rushing toward Max.
But just before the blow could land—
He stopped.
Mid-stride, mid-punch, frozen.
As if some unseen force had gripped his body, halting it in place.
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
Max hadn't even moved.
Midas Twitched.
Midas: What are you doing Damian(soldier who attacked)?
Damian: Leave it to us, sir.
Seeing Damian everybody else also turned hostile.
Midas swung his hand as Damian was sent flying right to the ground
Midas: Don't Interfere.
Thinking Midas's guard is down, Max jumps forward, not to run, but to attack Midas;
Midas raised his hand.
Max is stopped.
Sighed.
Midas: You just saw me stop him; your first instinct was to attack. Who even hires you people? The diamond inside you belongs to me and gives me full control over it.
Midas retracted his hand.
Max's body suddenly tensed as he kneeled before Midas.
Midas: To support your sister...huh!
Max(mumbled): How are you?
This is what Midas was seeing...
__________________________
Name: Max Atwell
Desire: To become a captain in the Department of Terrorism(DOT) and support my sister.

Suddenly, Max's body was loose again as he immediately looked at Midas
Midas: Go then, tell them I 'Midas' is raging War against the whole world.
Seeing the chance Max ran as fast as he could...
Though questions were put forward against Midas
Freddy(Soldier): Sir, why would you?
Eman(soldier): Sir, won't it cause trouble for us?
Even Joel was shocked...
Joel: Sir, are we really ready?
Midas seems amused— He looked at the sky...
Midas: Saddening, you guys are Amazing, though. My trust seems to have broken.
As Midas rose, diamond surged like a tidal wave — flowing like molten lava, swallowing the soldiers whole. Their screams echoed as crystal engulfed flesh, silencing them in gleaming tombs.
He turned. Joel lay on the ground, trembling.
Joel: "Sir... why?"
Midas crouched beside him, eyes calm.
Midas: "You've been loyal, Joel. Loyalty deserves to be... rewarded."
He raised his hand. Gold and diamond swirled in the air like liquid divinity before cascading over Joel's body, encasing him.
Something in Midas had changed. His eyes no longer reflected power — but something deeper... and darker.
To be continued.
