Chapter 2 - Terror from Another World

I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes. They just wanted to stay shut.

I crawled my way to reach the window. When I finally looked outside, I saw that the sky turned dark, the blue sky... just disappeared.

I tilted my head towards our neighbourhood, I could see broken walls, fallen houses, with dust and debris all over, close to our apartment.

I wanted to shut my ears to stop those screams echoing the island.

"Just... how, how could this have happened." said Ron.

"Also, how long are you going to cry. Max!" Ron said with a frustrating yet terrified expression.

"Just... let him be for the time being." I replied.

"Davis... we cant." said Ron.

"Don't push him Ron. I'm also trembling." I replied.

"But-"

He stopped mid sentence. As he was able to see the look on my face. My hands were trembling in fear, with a knife in my hand.

The more I was looking at the knife the urge to stab myself was coming to my mind.

"Maybe let's just end it here Davis."

"No."

"You might not get another chance?"

"I said, No"

"Davis... Snap out..." I heard Ron's voice.

"Hey don't leave me alone man." said Ron.

"I... I'm, ok." I said while breathing heavily.

"Remember Davis, remember. Whenever Ron was outbursting, who remained calm. We don't need a panic here of all places."

"Thanks Ron. I think I'm settling on a bit."

"Thank god." Ron replied.

I was scared but, I tried to be strong. Not because I can absorb this horror, not even close. But because I wanted to survive through this, along with them.

I always disregarded what good moments I had, never fully appreciated or cherished them. Not again.

Not without even trying to survive this situation.

"Ron... Listen to me. I know this is all too much. I know how you feel for Max looking like a stone. But we need to stay calm... calm." I replied.

"Davis..." said Ron.

"We always relied on each other."

"Whenever one faced something, other two were their to support."

"If... if all three of us breakdown, then it... it would be end of us." I said.

"I know. It's just-" Ron replied with a sigh in frustration.

"Ok... Let me think. Firs... First we need to find any supplies we can scavenge. And need to assess the situation outside." I replied.

"Yeah we need to find something as a weapon for our defence, because... we don't know what could happen outside." Ron replied.

"Come on Max, now is not the time to give up. Sitting idle won't help anyone." said Ron.

"So just stand up with us, one more time. We will face this situation, together." I said to Max.

[ 3 Days Ago... ]

After we rescued Max from those guys, we were going towards college. Everything was mostly normal, that's what I thought but then...

It happened.

Students were shouting while looking at the window. The sky lighted up even more much like it's not morning but noon itself.

The light was getting sharper for my eyes to keep up, I was hardly able to keep my eyes open. And with all that ruckus, I was not able to clearly see as well.

That ruckus made me curious as well, because initially I thought of that as some plane or shuttle or something like that. But the students were not letting the window while the lecture was going on.

"Davis... I.. I think you should see this." said Max.

Seeing Max like that, I rushed towards the window.

We looked up in the sky some object kept on falling.

I felt like the sky was splitting in half to make the grand entrance for it.

I looked around for Ron, and I could see an excitement, yet a worried expression on his face.

In that blink of motion, the object suddenly seemed bigger.

Everyone were panicking and screaming as that thing was getting closer and closer to the land.

I wasn't even able to move or say anything. It felt like someone had choked my throat. Because the closer it was getting, the more details were appearing.

Initially I thought of it as a meteorite, but now it started to look more like metallic coated.

The sky was getting from yellow towards red rather than it's initial blue. The bright morning was turning towards a hellish red color.

It was not just sky. The winds were getting strong as well. Uncontrollable breaking the glasses of our classroom. The shattering glass fell inside of class and I immediately looked for my friends.

Max was fallen down, hiding under the table making a cover.

"Smart as always..."

Then looked for Ron.

He was sweating, I have never seen him like this, as if he felt helplessness for the very first time.

The winds were we getting stronger, and people were running for their lives.

I could see one of the student fallen beside me was bleeding because of the glass. One student at the corner was crying but teachers trying to support her, yet they themselves were terrified.

While others just stood near the window like accepting their fate.

I slightly ducked out from the corner of the window and saw many of us students were rushing outside the college. Not sure if that was wise of them or not.

We were also shocked but by building up some courage Ron took Max's hand and we started running towards our college's basement area to take cover.

However while running,... wind suddenly stopped, and 'IT' stopped mid-air, like a floating object.

I got a glimpse of it, and it wasn't big, it was huge. Huge enough that could easily destroy any buildings in its way.

Yet, even from that distance, from that metallic object, we could see something smaller popping out.

And suddenly a deep voice echoed.

I was not sure about what language 'IT' spoke, but the meaning felt clear as day.

"Now its your turn to do the ritual... HUMANS!!!"

"Behold and bow before the Supreme being."

The voice echoed through the air. I felt my whole body go cold.

"Let the survival BEGIN!!!" that being ordered.

"What does it mean by survival?"
