Chapter 15 - Regret

He sat up, clutching his abdomen, bent forward, and vomited onto the floor.

When the sour liquid finally stopped coming up, he collapsed backward, completely drained. His face was deathly pale.

David was nowhere to be seen.

"What is that smell? It's disgusting." Yun Fangze walked into the bedroom wrapped in a bath towel, frowning as she waved her hand in front of her nose.

"Oh? You threw up?" She leaned casually against the doorframe instead of going in. "What's wrong—are you feeling sick?"

Luo Wei glared at her, his eyes blazing with anger. "You—why didn't you let me go last night?"

"Is that what you're angry about?" Yun Fangze looked genuinely surprised. "Didn't you enjoy yourself?"

"I was out of my mind!" Luo Wei shouted. "We've known each other for years. Don't you know what kind of person I am? How could I accept something like that? If you had even the slightest affection for me—or treated me as a friend—you shouldn't have trapped me and tempted me!"

At this moment, he hated Yun Fangze deeply.

He hated himself even more—for knowing exactly what kind of woman she was, yet still being hopelessly drawn to her.

"You look like someone whose soul just left his body," Yun Fangze said indifferently. "We all enjoyed ourselves. No one owes anyone anything. You're a man—why are you overthinking it?"

"I just can't accept it," he said hoarsely. "There's no dignity. No shame."

"What do you want, then?" Yun Fangze spread her hands. "Compensation? Or do you want to accuse me of forcing you? Last night, you walked into the bathroom on your own. And when things went that far—if I had let you leave, could you really have gone?"

Luo Wei fell silent.

He knew she was right.

At the welcome banquet after his return from abroad, he had agreed to help Yun Fangze by kissing Gong Mou during a drinking game and slipping laxatives into his wine. In exchange, she gave him her room card at Yunshang Hotel so he could find her anytime.

Last night, after returning from a business trip, he had quietly entered her room, hoping to spend the night with her.

He had never imagined it would end like this.

"Well, stop sulking." Yun Fangze yawned lazily. "Go take a shower or sleep in another room. I'll have someone clean this place."

Luo Wei stared at her for a long time. Then suddenly—

Bang.

He slammed his head against the wall.

The wall was covered with thick soundproof sponge—installed specifically because Yun Fangze often brought men home and didn't want the noise leaking out.

No matter how hard he hit it, he couldn't hurt himself.

Yun Fangze watched him calmly, shook her head, and walked away.

Luo Wei had everything—looks, talent, background—but his personality was too soft. He wasn't the type she could grow attached to.

She had always sworn that no matter how wild she was before marriage, she would be loyal afterward. That was why she could never save herself—physically or emotionally—for him.

So far, only Gong Mou had ever made her want to marry.

Half an hour later, Luo Wei slipped out of Room 3818 like a thief and rushed to the elevator, frantically pressing the button.

He never wanted to come back to this place again.

The elevator arrived quickly. He ran downstairs, got into his BMW, and drove off.

As he drove, he kept telling himself that Yun Fangze was not the woman he should love. No matter how painful it was to let go, he would never fall for her again.

As for last night—he would forget it. Completely.

But he was being far too optimistic.

An hour later, after returning to his apartment, his phone rang with a notification.

A new email.

He opened it absentmindedly.

Attached was a video—over two gigabytes.

The sender's address was unfamiliar.

A prank?

He clicked play.

First came the music—Carmen. Then sounds that made his scalp go numb.

When the image appeared, his vision nearly went black.

The footage was from last night—some scenes in the bathroom, others in the bedroom.

It had clearly been filmed with a hidden camera. The quality wasn't high-definition, but the distance was close, the duration long. Every face—his, Yun Fangze's, David's—was unmistakably clear.

The scenes were humiliating beyond words.

His phone slipped from his hand and hit the floor.

He lay back, staring at the ceiling, his face drained of all color.

Someone had recorded it.

Who?

And why?

Before he could think further, another email notification sounded—ominous and sharp.

After a long moment, he opened it.

There was only one sentence:

"This is a love souvenir. Please keep it, so it can be remembered in the future."

Luo Wei stared at the screen, then suddenly stood up and smashed his phone onto the ground.

"Who did this?! Don't let me find you—or I'll kill you and feed you to the dogs!"

The phone rang cheerfully.

Still working.

He stared at it bitterly—was it mocking him?

He picked it up. The caller ID showed his foreign boss.

He had no choice but to answer.

Before he could speak, a heavy American-accented voice burst out:

"Luo Wei, this is Steve. Go to Shangdu Space-Time right now and check the hottest post. Then tell me how you plan to explain this."

"What post?" Luo Wei asked numbly.

"Just go look." Steve hung up.

With shaking hands, Luo Wei logged into Shangdu Space-Time—the city's largest public forum.

The first thing that caught his eye was a massive, flaming headline:

"SUPER EXCITING—BETTER THAN ISLAND FILMS! UNSPEAKABLE VIDEO FROM SHANGDU HILTON—WATCH BEFORE IT'S GONE!"

His heart sank.

"Shangdu Hilton" was one of Yun Fangze's online nicknames.
