The team starts giving a detailed explanation of their Egos to me to get a better idea of a proper strategy.
Bonnie's Ego doesn't just turn into a robot, it seems she can change her body structure into an advanced Animatronic Exoskeleton at will, greatly increasing her Constitution by default. Whenever a piece of hers gets damaged, destroyed or breaks off, she can repair it by consuming those pieces back, other metal, or being healed normally since her Animatronic parts are made of her own organic material. it sounds grosser than I'd thought but it's an incredible ability for close range. It's called 'Animatronic Component' and her Codename is 'Animatronica' which isn't really original but it's very fitting.
Jacob is simple and I already knew what it did, it is a simple but great enhancement to his constitution, it seems to affect his agility a small amount as well. His Ego is simply called 'Constitution' and his Codename is 'Knuckles' which he loves to shove down people's faces. He's quite a bit violent by nature.
Sarmon's Ego is a lot stronger than I thought he can actually summon up to 1,000 spinners which is more than he's ever shown so I asked why he never did that. It seems they do get weaker if he summons too many at a time, when he summons a hundred or so they are as tough as his bones and deal a good amount of damage but if he summons any more than that, their toughness and damage starts getting split between them all and weakened further. He can also make them slightly levitate or glide but it consumes a lot of energy for even one of them to do so. His Ego is called 'Spinner Spammer' which is quite on the nose and his Codename is 'Spincaster'.
Last is Ron who is taking a nap in the stretcher, he's already healed but the nurse's healing is known to make people very drowsy since it uses the patient's own body to activate the healing. His Ego is 'Shadow Golem', it summons a dark stone and mossy golem with runes along its arms, body and back that gives it dark element shadow powers. It can go through solid objects and climb walls as a shadow, when fused with Ron it grants those abilities and its strength to him. I want to see if I can use those runes with my Ego as well but I doubt it.
Max goes into details about his Ego's new ability, the tail. I already know since I was there when it happened but the team only saw it they don't know if it does anything. He proceeds to demonstrate by wrapping me with his tail and pulling me closer to him.
"See? very useful" He says as he leans on me I can't get out of his grip so I just start punching his side. He smiles at me then ignores me.
"Can your tail do anything else?" Asks Bonnie
"Yeah if it's just stretchy it isn't really changing anything since you could already do that with your hair" Sarmon frowns.
"Well maybe I can whack people with it, it's pretty tough" Max responds and tightens his tail around me, then slaps the back of my head with it. I try to fight back but It's a losing battle. Jacob seems satisfied then Max loosens up but still doesn't let go.
"Good the more things to beat people with the better" Jacob says
"So, Kris what's your Ego? I thought you were an Enchanter Class but you used three different elements in the fight" Asks Bonnie and the rest turn to me
"Inconclusive?" Sarmon says, Inconclusive is for those who fall under more than one Class.
"Actually I think I'm Variant Class" I say
"Ah I see-Wait did you just say Variant?" Bonnie asks surprised.
Variant isn't just a Classification Group, it's also a Class for those who don't fall under Any of the others. Given how my Ego doesn't fall neatly into one and I can apparently get more abilities as I grow it should be safe to assume it falls under Variant Class.
I tell them about my breakthrough and my Core and even Jacob seems surprised. There isn't that many who form an actual Core anymore and while the fact that people are able to target it should make it a weakness much like an organ, mine just kind of exists. It isn't physically on my body but almost in a different space that's inside me somewhere. They seem even more surprised at that since I have a strong power source that can't be forcefully cut off.
"Lucky bastard" Jacob scoffs and heads to the training dummies at the end of the field and starts training. It seems he's very determined to not be outdone. Sarmon goes off and starts summoning his Spinners hoping to strengthen them. Bonnie turns her arms into robot parts and starts fighting the training dummies as well. Ron is still asleep so that leaves Max and I.
